Day 7, Afternoon
Who: Sam Winchester and Luna Lovegood
What: Snow Play
Where: Walking to the gas station
When: Day 7, afternoon
Rating: PG 13
Status: Active

The walk that Sam had gotten used to from the museum to the church seemed much different when everything was covered in a thick blanket of snow. It was well past midday and the wan sunlight from overhead was doing little to melt the snow that had fallen earlier that morning. There were some buildings where the drift had hit it just right enough where the door or windows were buried under a formidable wall of snow and he wondered how many of the journal occupants were stuck inside. It seemed kind of funny to be outside in the stillness of white when he'd just warned people to be careful, but Sam felt like he knew the town well enough that he was the exception. More than that, he needed to get out of the museum and busy doing something other than sitting around and wondering what Dean was doing. Or worse, what Shannon was doing.

He needed something to focus on and the prospect of heading to the gas station for supplies had been something he'd jumped up into a priority. He moved towards the church door the snow crunching underfoot. He reached out and knocked, jamming his hands in his pockets for warmth as he waited.

Ah there, another smile. Luna had feared not only that he had been misinformed, but that he was somehow limited to a small number of smiles per day, week or month. He seemed to do it so rarely.

Although, he certainly looked less pleased about the Magical Cleanup Squad's methods. "Oh, I do know, they seem a heavy handed lot. Father and I are certain that Muggles could be able to carry the knowledge of such things, magic and dragons, without all that fearful persecution and witch burning nonsense again." It seemed silly, to hide from such a great sized world. "However, others do not agree, and I would quite likely be in quite a bit of trouble for announcing my magical status while in this place." Luna was not overly fearful of the current government's tsking, they were a good deal less in need of a good laxative than the Ministry of her youth.

Curious, and always interested in something new and unusual, she followed him to the where he stopped. A small smile on her lips in trade for his laugh, glad his mood had lightened once more. Withdrawing said Pixie Stix, she both nodded and shook her head. "A few, but naught more than three." She had hoped to restock her stash.

"Well, it's not like you've had much of a choice," Sam commented when Luna said she might be in trouble for talking about her magical status. He gave her a small smile. "I can see why you'd have to keep it a secret though," he said with a nod. "I guess the world at large doesn't really react well to things or powers they don't understand." Some even hunted them. People like his family, like himself until he'd discovered he had the power himself.

Sam grinned as he took the extended pixie sticks and opened the door of the pharmacy. "We're going to need some bottled water," he said, looking around for it. He glanced down at the pixie stick on his hand and set aside a red one. A cherry snow cone sounded like a good start.
