Day Seven - Early Morning
Who: Shannon Rutherford & Shizuka Domeki
What: Early morning practice
When: Asscrack of dawn
Where: Initially the museum, then the carnival probably
Rating: PG- something or other (but probably no more than 13)
Status: Complete

The snow already beginning to press against the door of the thrift shop made it a bit difficult to leave and the snow already beginning to accumulate on the streets and walks of the town made the trek to the museum something slow and labored. Domeki, figuring that it would take him a while to make the hike across town, had chosen to leave before it had even begun to get light outside and it proved to be a wise choice - aside from the fact that he found himself already chilled nearly to the bone by the time he paused before the large door leading into the museum.

Domeki flexed the bare and numb fingers of his hands as he debated whether or not to knock. He knew that knocking was, essentially, the only way he could let Shannon know that he had arrived but there was an equal chance that he might awaken one of the gentlemen currently staying with her - and then he might have to explain what he wanted with his big sister at this hour and also why he was currently carrying a bow.

After a moment of silent debate, he finally raised his hand and rapped his numb knuckles against the wood of the door. He could only hope that, should Shannon not be the one to answer, whoever did liked early morning knock knock jokes.

As much as Shannon hated to admit that Domeki was probably right about having probably all the time in the world to teach her archery, she nodded. She was pretty sure it was true. "Well, if it gets all warm and sunny tomorrow we're all running the risk of getting sick while our bodies try to adjust, so, here's hoping you're wrong about that." She didn't even want to think how badly impaired everyone's immune systems were going to be to begin with, especially those that had been stuck in the glass cage longer. For lack of nutrition and an abundance of shitty weather, so far as Shannon could see, they were all pretty fucked.

A small smile spread over Shannon's lips at Domeki's comment about checking up on the other museum dwellers and she wrapped an arm around her, resting her head against his again and taking comfort in his body heat as she started to walk. "You're more than welcome to; they're all really nice guys," she replied. "I just don't wanna hold you up so that you can't get back into the thrift shop after dropping me off or anything," she pointed out, as the snow was still falling heavily all around them.

Domeki simply nodded to her comment that they would all likely get sick if the weather changed suddenly again tomorrow but the non-answer was mostly due to the fact that he didn't want to speak his own thought - the one that said the powers in charge of this place probably intended to test them with the weather, to see whose immune system was weak and whose was strong. If they were in a survival of the fittest situation, then it probably came naturally that their stamina would be tested on top of everything else - and how else could the capricious weather be explained?

"I believe it. They'd have to be for my big sister to be interested in them," he agreed. He mirrored her small smile as he once again wrapped his arm around her back; the sharing of what little body heat they had between them really was rather nice. To her latter comment, he lifted one shoulder in something of a shrug but he did know that she was likely right. "I can walk part of the way, then. I think there's still a bit of time before the door would be entirely blocked."
