Day 7 - Late morning
Who:Watanuki and Domeki
What: happy meeting of two old friends
When: late morning
Where: in the streets, not far from the Thrift Store
Rating: I bet it'll be PG-13 for language
Status: complete

The snow didn't look like it'd stop any time soon and Watanuki was getting annoyed. Even though they had some food and water stored, he didn't like the idea of being trapped in there for he didn't know how long. Besides, he was worried that if the snow would pile any higher against the shop windows the glass would collapse under the weight.
Eventually he made up his mind and decided to go and have a look around to see if he could find a better place. He was lucky that the door opened towards the interior of the shop or he would be stuck inside, he reflected as he pushed his way through the snow that already reached past to his knees. Before reaching the end of the street he'd regretted his decision to go outside: the cold wind made his face burn, and the snow was getting into his eyes and clothes. Even with his new jacket and gloves, he felt freezing. Seeing a figure advancing through the snow, he went in that direction waving one arm to attract their attention.

Good. I didn't want to have to carry you up the stairs." Domeki replied in a half-truth. The main reason he didn't want to have to try to carry Watanuki was because Domeki wasn't entirely sure that he could - he was having more than enough difficulty with his own near-frozen body and he couldn't imagine that carrying even someone as light as Watanuki would be easy. That wasn't to say that he still wouldn't do so if it became necessary. "You're still the idiot for coming out in the cold when you didn't have to."

The thought that he might well have broken his bow in the fall occurred to him and Domeki glanced to his side - and then relaxed to see that the weapon had apparently survived the fall fairly well. The arrows which he had wrapped in cloth and then stuck in the pocket of his jacket seemed fine, as well, but he'd pay more attention to them later, when he wasn't in danger of freezing to death.

Moving as if he were quite an old man, Domeki managed to pull himself from the snow and he closed the short distance to the door with no additional problems. Once there, he knocked loudly and silently prayed that someone was near enough to hear them. He really didn't want to have to spend any more time out in the weather.

Watanuki didn't even hear the last of Domeki's words. He had somehow managed to get back on his feet and was now using all of his concentration to make sure he managed to stay upright for as long as it took them to get inside.
This seemed to be an impossible task - he was already seeing everything fuzzy due to his glasses getting covered with snow crystals, but now it was as if everything was dancing in front of him. He felt dizzy in a very unpleasant way.

Any moment now, he kept telling himself. Someone would come and let them in. He'd just have to bear with the cold for a few more minutes. He wanted to stomp his feet to keep warm, but his junctures were so frozen that he could barely lift one foot.
While Domeki hammered on the door, he leaned against the outside wall to get a bit of rest. Very slowly, he lost consciousness and fell over.
