Day 6 - Late morning
Who: George and OTA
What: Some kind of breakfast?
When: Day Six, about 11am
Where: Gas Station/Convenience Store
Rating: PG
Status: Active

What a wonderful awakening. In the style of George Lass, this was thought with pure sarcasm and a shit-eating grin while she walked, hands in her coat pockets, from the thrift store to the gas station. She'd gone to pick up a scarf, a beanie hat and some ear-muffs to add to her recently put together outfit, also courtesy of the Doctor. Well, the coat, anyway. It was cold as hell, and her sneakers were letting the snow in now. She'd need new socks soon.

For now, she was just hungry and thirsty, mildly feeling like she had a hangover without the drinking, and she needed some food as soon as possible. Hence why she had just walked into the convenience store, briefly noticing that the guys who usually stood outside weren't there - maybe even they couldn't face the cold morning, or maybe they just weren't morning people.

Non-perishable food meant not much choice at all, so George picked a bagel, an individual chocolate pudding and a cereal bar; then, some Mountain Dew-like generic thing she hoped wouldn't taste like shit. It would have to do. Rather than going back outside and walking all the way to the theater before eating, George set her stuff on the counter and then jumped up to sit on top of it. Not like the clerks would mind, after all.

Oh...right, she just appreciated the sentiment. Sid gave her a small smile back. "I do," he replied. They'd been through a lot of shit, he and Cass. Beside the fact that he loved her, he wanted to make sure she knew it. And, well, sometimes Cass made rash decisions and needed someone to reel her in. She was a very emotional person and tended to act before thinking about it, which, in a place like New York, Sid thought might be more dangerous than annoying.

"Cass is...well she sort of disappeared after..." his voice trailed off. That was painful to think about, so he decided not to delve into the whole theory he held for Cassie's leaving. "Anyway, I reckon she went a bit off and Cass is rather fond of running away as opposed to dealing with problems."

Then he took another drag of the cigarette, much deeper and indulgent this time, exhaling it as he went on. "I just wanted to make sure she'd be all right. Was worried, y'know, only she left without telling anyone. It's just she sent a postcard from New York and so I went. I don't even know if she was in the city itself, honestly..." he admitted with a furrowed brow.

Nodding, George smiled sweetly. Young love, so cute. Not that she knew anything about it. Well, apart from her sister's sad, horrible story, but that was just too sad and painful to think about.

George kept nodding and using encouraging interjections between Sid's speech. Well, her sister had wanted to kill herself, for a total of ten minutes. She could get running away from problems.

"You're brave, I don't think many people would do that." George sounded impressed. "Didn't your parents give you shit, though?"
