Day Five - Early Evening
Who: Sid Jenkins and Cielo
What: Chance meeting
When: Day 5, Early evening
Where: The theater
Rating: PG-13 for language...it's Sid, after all.
Status: Incomplete; dropped

The day was dragging and the sirens had gone past the point of annoying and well into the point of making Sid want to punch someone in the bloody face. His head was pounding now. After meeting up with Anders, even though Logan had said to stay put and to keep his 'damn head down,' Sid was itching to move around. There had to be a telly somewhere, right? Or a computer. Something. He was bored out of his mind already.

Dragging his feet as he walked slowly down the dirt road, Sid looked around as he went. Everything looked in shambles or worse. Even though he was restless, Sid was starting to get tired, his feet hurt, and he didn't feel like walking anymore. Dropping down onto the steps of the building in front of him, Sid took out his journal, the cigarettes, and a lighter. With one hand, he put a cigarette between his lips and lit it while, with the other, he poised his pen and jotted down a note to Logan. He tried to ignore how it reminded him of having to leave notes for his parents when he went out before he'd been old enough to take care of himself in their absence of concern for him.

Then, he stretched out and laid down on the top stair, closing his eyes. With a groan, he opened them again when the alarm sounded loudly almost as if in response. "Bollocks..." he muttered with a frown, staring up at the sky.

Laughing along with Cielo, Sid raised his eyebrows and took another drag off the cigarette before blowing the smoke out along with his words. "If only life was so easy, yeah?" he joked. He hadn't really thought about the fact that if it was all in his head, he could actively change things about his surroundings. If that was the way things were, the first thing Sid was going to do was get rid of all the blokes and bring in his mates. Then he'd make it warmer outside and clean up the buildings so they didn't look so creepy and abandoned. "That's a point..." he said pensively, pulling off the cigarette again and again until it was spent. He flicked it carelessly out onto the dirt road with his middle finger and thumb.

"Thanks, mate!" Sid exclaimed, grinning widely as he took one of the offered candies. "I used to love these when I was a kid," he said, tearing off the top of the paper tube and letting the ripped piece flutter to the ground before tipping the tube back into his mouth and emptying it in one go. As Cielo explained that it was boring and he was hoping to find something to do, Sid let the sugar dissolve on his tongue and then swallowed, grimacing just slightly at the tang. "Yeah, 's a bit dull. I keep trying to take a nap to kill time, but those bloody alarms keep waking me," he muttered.

"Who says that life isn't so easy?" Cielo asked as he tipped his head curiously at Sid. In one way, he supposed that he did know that making things happen wasn't as simple as just wishing that they would but who said that the greatest triumphs didn't start with the smallest of steps? Besides, if Sid was the creator and the god of this place then he could probably do anything he might want; which also probably meant that it would be a really good idea to try to stay on his good side. "You can think about wishing for almost anything, yea? Sky's the limit and all! But that's kinda already working toward making it happen cos you sent that wish out into the universe and you already set your feet on that path." He grinned widely and shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno. It's prolly easier if you can just wish and poof it happens, huh?"

"Glad to share! S'no fun eating good stuff like this if you can't share," he grinned from around the opened end of his own pixie stix. Even though he had been bored before he had wandered over in this direction, he found himself feeling a bit better about the whole situation now that he'd found someone to talk to - and to share his candy with. "I was thinking of going to sleep, too, but I dunno if I could sleep through the sound of the siren. I kinda hope that they cut out soon; it's sort of putting me on edge, you know?"

Boy, this bloke was really optimistic, wasn't he? Sid raised his eyebrows almost incredulously. Life wasn't easy. Life was shit, every minute of it. If it wasn't one thing, it was another and the only time Sid was ever really happy was when he was sleeping or wanking and that was the sad truth of it. Everyone treated him like shit or worse and those who didn't, didn't because they were dead. Far be it for Sid, though, to rain on the guy's parade. So he shrugged and decided to play along. "Probably, yeah," he agreed. "If all it takes is a matter of time after making a wish, then, it's really only a waiting game until we're all on a beach somewhere with loads of fit girls and spliff," he said with a small smirk. Or just me and the loads of girls, actually, but...

The sentiment that it was no fun if you couldn't share was one that Sid knew very well, only he attached the thought to drugs and alcohol more than candy, really. Still, it meant the same thing and Sid understood, so he grinned and nodded as such. "Yeah, dunno how much more I can take myself, mate," he agreed in reference to the sodding alarms. "Might go back up to the petrol station and see if wrapping my coat around my head will block it out," he said, only half joking.
