It was just too much. As if George's usual mood wasn't already abrasive enough, now she had a miagraine from the noise and sleep deprivation, and even the little fun she'd had at the thrift store with the Doctor only helped for a little while. Now, she wanted to bash something in someone's head repeatedly, if only that stopped the damn siren from working.

Since it didn't, but the migraine was staying put, she decided the next logical step (because her ability to think logically hadn't vanished completely yet) would be to hit the pharmacy and hope to God they had some aspirin or something. Otherwise, George would really kill a bitch.

"Oh, my God, why don't you just materialize?! Damn it." She protested as she rummaged through the contests of the pharmacy, wincing and with eyes half-shut all the while. No wonder she couldn't find the damn aspirin anywhere.

This time it was Sam's turn to shrug. There were a lot of things they did when they were hunting. Lying, stealing, killing... all in the name of saving. He'd never realized how mercenary like it sounded. Again he was reminded of why he usually and probably should've in this case too, kept his mouth shut about the family business.

"It's kind of hard to explain," he said after a moment. "I mean, half the things we hunt most people don't believe in anyway. You've kind of got to be prepared for anything." He sighed, forcing a humorless smile. "Not that being a hunter exactly prepared me for this place."

George nodded. Well she supposed it must not be like a 9-5 job at all, that didn't sound fitting to a hunting the supernatural gig. "Hell until I saw myself coming back from the dead I didn't believe in anything either." She shrugged. It was true, George was a cynic and a skeptic, through-and-through. "Nobody is prepared to be yanked from a point in time and put here, Sam, however much supernatural beings you encounter in your daily life." She smiled up at him.

Sam gave a small laugh and nodded. "Yeah, I think you're right," he said softly. He paused, tilting his head for a moment. "Sounds like they're done for now, at least."

His head still hurt, but he thought he could feel some of the pain fading a little. He straightened up from the shelf and picked up the bottle of aspirin, holding it out to George. "You'd better take this in case they come back. I haven't actually reached migraine level yet. Besides, I've got some back at where I'm staying if mine comes back."

George nodded, and sighed. "The for now part is what gets me..." She said, looking up to the ceiling as if there was some sort of trap door up there into the real world.

Taking the aspirin bottle from Sam, she opened it and popped another one. Better safe than sorry. "Thanks, Sam. It's funny, everybody seems so prepared, I haven't even thought to do that. I guess the back of my mind is still positive that this is some sort of coma-dream. Although I don't think I could get into a coma." She shrugged.

"Is it wrong that I hope you're right and we're all just in the same coma ward or something like that?" Sam asked. The thought had crossed his mind too. Or worse that this was some kind of weird afterlife or limbo ground, though the fact that George was here and genuinely seemed as lost as the rest of them didn't seem to give that theory much weight.

"I can't really take credit for being too prepared," Sam said, slowly. "Shannon's the one that's managed to gather food and asprin and everything. Weirdly enough her situation prior to being here did prepare her for this kind of thing."

One bad situation into another.

George snorted, but gave him a 'too bad' smirk. "No, but I don't think we're so lucky." This had to be reality, since she was here and she couldn't be permanently harmed, or go away until she got all her reaps. She was almost just as human as he was, after all.

"Yeah Shannon's mentioned something fucked up happened before she came here." George sighed, feeling sorry for her even if she was a bit of a bitch sometimes. So was George! "Unlucky..." She mumbled.

"Maybe that's what we all have in common," Sam said, giving George a small smile. "We're all incredibly unlucky."

It certainly applied to himself, to Dean, to Shannon, to Andy, to anyone he'd met so far. Bad things seemed to have happened to all of them.

Though he really hoped he was wrong and they were here for some better reason than just bad luck.

Getting slightly morose, George nodded, agreeing with Sam. "I guess you might be right. As fucked up as that is." She took another drink of water, since she was now experiencing thirst to go with the now-headache. Nice. God, this place sucked and was sucking the life out of her.
