Laughing a little, Shannon nodded. "Well, that's good; the smell of me alone would probably knock you dead," she replied with a playful roll of her eyes. Although, when she really thought about it, she felt kind of bad for Sam. No, she felt really bad for Sam, because he'd been the one spooning with her to keep her warm at night and holding her when she cried the night before. The thought made her wrinkle her nose in distaste for herself. Poor guy... "Ha, yeah, you better believe it. I'm gonna brave the cold anyway, honestly, now that I've got an actual reason to," she replied, nodding toward the display of travel toiletries. "Because just as much as I'm sure I smell disgusting...I feel disgusting."
She noticed the questioning arch of Domeki's eyebrows and gave him a weak smile. "That's just what I called them," she clarified in reference to the caves. "Because Claire was attacked in there when she was sleeping. And then kidnapped. Oh, but she came back, so..." she let her voice trail off and felt no need to further the conversation by mentioning that while Claire had come back, she hadn't remembered really anything that had happened before returning to the other survivors. That was a bit too much and she didn't want to drop her mood again when she was so suddenly happy to have found soap and to be in Domeki's presence again. "And yeah...faulty water heaters suck a lot but this is gonna hit you like a ton of bricks. A very cold ton of bricks," she laughed.
Domeki's wan smile was returned with one of Shannon's own as she shook her head and waved off his apology. She didn't care anymore; she knew he was safe and that was what mattered to her, now. "It's okay," she said simply, leaving it at that. Shannon could see that Domeki was puzzled by her use of 'cheesy' but with no idea of how to explain it without confusing him even more, she left that alone. "I've never been a big sister before..." she mused with a small smile. "I've always been the little sister," she added to clarify.
A smirk tugged at her lips when he played along with her, even going as far as to add a slight bow. Shannon giggled and shook her head. "It's really a shame, Heroic Poet, because it was really funny," she replied. "And yeah, too bad, too, because I totally would love to have a picture to remember the whole thing. Although, actually, I think maybe I'll never forget, just because the outfit was so insane I think it's burned into my retinas as well as my memory," she joked.
Shannon was glad to hear that Domeki agreed that the Red Bull helped a little and she smiled. "Almost worth that nasty taste, huh?" she asked. The smile faltered slightly and Shannon wrinkled her nose. "I'll be fucking pissed if it doesn't stop by the end of the night, seriously. I'm tired and grouchy as hell," she said, although she was probably easily betraying the foul mood simply because horsing around with Leo and now running into Domeki took her mind off it.
