Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:day 1: reboot, lexie grey, location: pharmacy, sherlock holmes

Day 1: Nearly Noon
WHO: Lexie Grey, Sherlock Holmes and OPEN to Pharmacy visitors!
WHAT: Scoping out the pharmacy
WHERE: The pharmacy, Duh.
WHEN: Nearly lunchtime
RATING: Likely PG

Crossing the street felt like it ought to be more dramatic. Like a car should have come barrelling down the road to knock her out or lightning should have struck. Nothing was ever this easy or ever this close in the last town. Everything was so much more spread out then instead of this little shopping district they had now. It felt even more wrong here for that.

There was a big glass door to pull open and bells on it to chime Lexie's entry, she stood there a few moments, holding the door for Sherlock as she squinted at the well stocked shelves. There were all manner of medications from what she could see. Though, again the labels were all so antiquated. Bright, cheerful, or sterile. There was no in between with packaging in the 50's apparently.

Once she was able, Lexie was walking in, her rubber soles squeaking just a touch on the lineoleum flooring.

"Well, welcome to the clinic," she said, looking over her shoulder at Sherlock. Oh, yeah, Lexie already had plans to live here. Try not to be too surprised. It's what she did before and it's what she'd do this time. Though, something told her it was unlikely that she'd find a locking room again - no, that had been too fortunate. Sliding back through the aisles she was on her way to the pharmacy counter at the back. It was wide open with well stocked shelves. The only locking door she could see was what looked like a storeroom. Well, that would have to do.

"I'm not seeing any cigarettes, though," she called, leaning over the counter and eventually climbing over.

Watson shuffled through the doorway. "Hello?"

By this point, he was already realizing that he needed to make finding a cane a priority. Walking from the house they had found themselves to the chemist's took too long. He had made it just fine, but without the adrenaline or the high spirits he usually had when he was walking about without the assistance of his cane, it was a strain.

The pharmacy was peculiar looking, but not entirely unlike shops he was familiar with.

Holmes kept the door ajar, his make-shift picking tools stuck out of the lock. He followed Ms. Lexie's lead. If she had been here before and saw need to exercise caution, he would respect that. Despite the hard soles of his shoes, he walked behind her without a sound. As Ms. Lexie looked around at the door he heard a familiar voice. He couldn't help the grin that broke across his face. He touched Ms. Lexie's arm and walked past her into the isle.

Holmes stopped and looked at the newcomers. "You must be the one called 'L'," Holmes said to the younger man. Then he looked past him to Watson and smiled at him warmly. It was good to see him.

L glanced at Watson's gait, his face demonstrating little emotion, as usual. Still, it was possible for an empathic individual to pick up a note of sympathy. L was not as cold as he often came across, and when others were at a clear disadvantage, he felt better when he wasn't helpless to do something to level the field a bit.

Down the aisle, it was possible to glimpse a woman with her hair tied back, though she seemed to be trying to keep her presence low-key. The man seemed more assertive, striding forward with a confidence that L could appreciate. This was a man who took pride in his work and confronted things head-on, much like L himself. He nodded briskly to confirm Holmes' deduction.

"And you're Sherlocke Holmes. I assume Lexie Grey is...?" he peered back at her, squinting slightly, wondering if she'd come out to meet them.

Lexie was listening quite attentively, watching as Sherlock seemed to recognize something.

"Sher--" she hissed, but by then he was already meeting and greeting the three men who'd come inside.

Crossing her arms she'd follow his lead a few beats later, recognizing L, but not the other man. Though, from attire, she fig"Wured he just had to be Sherlock's friend from the journals.

Lexie gave a small wave of fingertips as she gave L a warm sort of smile. "You're L, alright," she confirmed. "And I'm Lexie." It felt strange meeting him in his way. Like she was having deja vu, except she hadn't done all this before.

"Hi," she said to Watson, looking around L to try and catch his eye.

What a strange little band they were indeed.

"Holmes!" Watson exclaimed, overjoyed at the sight of his friend. "What a relief it is to see you!"

Their arrival gave him a sense of relief after their startling morning. There was a pleasantness to be had in casually meeting new people, even in this uncertain place. Like in the majority of his life, Watson took comfort in the normal and the mundane.

"Hello," Watson greeted Lexie in return. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Grey." For a moment, he looked her over, wondering why and how a beautiful young woman such as herself would become a surgeon. It seemed both fantastic and alien to him. She was pleasant enough to look at, but he had never met a woman doctor, only some highly intelligent and intuitive nurses.

Holmes gave L a nod. The young man already fascinated him. The way he dressed and carried himself were intriguing things to read.

"Holmes!" Watson exclaimed, overjoyed at the sight of his friend. "What a relief it is to see you!"

"And you my dear friend," he responded, his smile warm. He spread out his arms, "You may take an interest in all that is to be found here." Then he clapped his hands and rubbed them together. He was eager to explore. He turned to Ms. Lexie- no, Ms. Grey.

"Is there anything else you might need from me at the moment?" He asked her.

With Lexie, the sense of deja vu was mutual. He'd almost certainly met her before if they were both here at one time, since he couldn't imagine not trying to find out everything about everyone in such an enclosed place. It deeply troubled him that what he perceived as important details seemed to have slipped away from him like a dream upon waking.

Holmes and Watson did recognize each other, something that L wasn't sure how to react to. The joyful reunion seemed highly desirable, and L, not used to being alone or left to his own devices, would have dearly liked to see his handler and assistant Watari in such an unfamiliar place. Without the old man, it was easy for L to feel panicked and wayward.

"I'd like to know if either of you have found anything to eat..." he said, addressing Holmes and Lexie.
