She lost track of how many times she 'died' and knew only she could hear lycans on her tail as she tripped over fallen branches, and in the next moment she was stumbling on concrete. Her hands flew out to catch herself and she ended up doing a forward roll, standing in a swift movement as her feet made flat contact with the ground. Selene spun on her heel, ready to face the lycans, body moving instinctively before her mind caught up to the fact she was no longer back in what she conceived as a dreamscape. More importantly...
Her eyes dropped as she extended her arms straight ahead, surveying herself as her tongue swiped quickly across her teeth. The black leather covering her arms and the scrape of fangs against her tongue had Selene letting out a heavy sigh of relief. "Thank god."
And as her heart rate began to slow and drop down to it's usual steady level she took a good look at the adjusted surroundings. Paved roads certainly hadn't been there before, nor the street lamps she could see evenly spaced along the roads. It made her wonder just what else was different, particularly as she noticed the banners hanging everywhere. The sound of her neck cracking as she tilted her head side to side was loud to her ears in the relative silence, the vampire trying to regain a level of comfort. Having a 'dream' about being mortal again had admittedly thrown her. And surely it was understandable considering how many centuries she had been operating as a vampire.
Selene tongued at one of her fangs, and brown eyes looked over the building she stood in front of before shifting to look down one length of the street. As curious as she was to see what else might have been changed, more strong was the instinctual urge to reaffirm her identity. That she hadn't ingested a drop of blood for five days didn't help.
Now, who might happen across her path... and would they provide what she wanted (and needed) willingly?
