Maybe You're a Sinner Into Your Alternate Life [Finished Thread]
Who: Rorschach and Merope Gaunt
What: Epic experiment of epic proportions.
When: After the two wake up in their little cell which is slowly filling with water on Day 4
Where: A sealed cell with no windows, no doors, and water slowly leaking in... like all the other experiments today. :)
Rating: At least PG-13 for now due to the fact that Rorschach is not happy or secure about this whole thing. He's without his mask and he's with a WOMAN to make matters even more uncomfortable.
Status: Finished

To say that Rorschach was a paranoid man would have been a dire understatement. To say it to the sociopath's face would have been to risk life and limb. Since arriving the day before, Rorschach had been very careful about being seen by others, and careful that they did not see where he slept. To be known of was to be targeted, and he wasn't about to take chances. Especially since he did not sleep while wearing his mask. Justice never slept, he had decided long ago, and so neither would he while he wore his true face.

For the second time in two days, he woke up in a place he hadn't fallen asleep. Immediately, he shot up, instantly alert and taking shallow breaths, heart pounding. It was not like Rorschach to panic, but it was never a bad thing to be on-edge. With sharp focus and a calm eye for detail, he glanced around at the room. It was small, and cramped... there was nothing to grab onto or pull on, and no visible way out. He quickly stepped onto his wooden bench and stood on it because he'd noticed, rather quickly, that the floor was damp. He could hear the soft whispers of water somewhere nearby, indicating that there was a leak of some kind in this cell.

There was also a woman with long, dark hair, sleeping on a bench opposite the one Rorschach was now standing on. It was when he noticed her that his chest clenched harshly. He didn't have his face. It didn't matter when he was alone, but with someone else present, it was all the ugly red-haired man could think about for a few moments. The absence of his identity was one of the only things in the world he found frightening.

He wasn't being quiet. The small hand drill he used made a loud burring sound as the screws were loosened. If they looked up, they would no doubt see the ceiling of their cell shuddering and sliding. Then, with a very satisfactory thunk! he was able to lift the top of the cell away. Sunlight filled the compartment below, setting the two experiment subjects in sharp relief of shadow and brilliant golden light. They would see his face if they looked upward at that moment. He was a very non-descript man. Sandy hair, brown eyes, no distinguishing features. They might even think they'd seen him somewhere before because they probably had. He was responsible for the transport of at least one third of those who walked the streets in Vas Captio.

Without a word, because he was not required to speak to the subjects, he simply let down a netted ladder into the cell. Then, still without a word, he disappeared beyond the edge of the cell ceiling. When they climbed out they would find themselves emerging from the lip of a large pipe-like cell sunken completely into the ground except for a 4 foot portion above ground. The cell stands alone in the center of a stand of trees within sight of an old, dilapidated barn. It wasn't difficult to imagine how they must feel and he didn't care. Experiment over. On to the next thing.

He smiled and whistled as he disappeared into the woods.
