Entry tags:!dropped, day 23, location: barn, remy lebeau, selene

Who: Remy LeBeau & Selene [Open to anyone else who'd see the fire and come looking]
What: Selene follows the fire to the barn.
Where: About a hundred feet from the barn, on the road.
When: Day 23, 6:30pm
Rating: PG-13
Status: Dropped

The large fire blazing atop over the trees was bright and hot, there was no way any of them would be able to put it out. Sure, the Doctor could have stopped it while it was still small, with those buckets of water the Cajun had sitting not far.. but he hadn't. And sure, the Mutant could have not set the fire in the first place.. but he had. He had to watch it burn, for many reasons. So standing there on the side of the road, with his little red Radio Flyer wagon, rusted and dull with age, he stared through the thin trees at the barn he'd called home for two weeks, engulfed in flame. In his little red wagon were three buckets of water, three empty buckets, a washing board (clearly home-made) and a few bottles of water. He'd made himself quite the nice little home there, but it'd had to burn.

In retrospect, perhaps he should have saved a few more things.. like his journal. Like the rope inside. Like his extra clothes.. his pillows.. his sheets. Standing there, staring at the fire decimate everything he'd collected over his stay here, the Cajun crossed his arms, ran his tongue over his teeth, then clicked his tongue once.

"Huh." That had been a bad idea.

His words earned him a glare, but it was light at least. "Sly little thing, aren't you?" She was going to have to watch herself and her words more carefully. Probably needed to do so in general, really. "I don't know if it's protective exactly. But I suppose it doesn't hurt for those of us that aren't human to watch each other's backs a little, you know what I mean?" Selene looked over at him, adding, "Keeping an eye on him keeps everyone safe. We don't need a pack of werewolves suddenly popping up."

"Oui, m' uh craf'y one." He flashed her that oh-so-charming smile and tossed another wink her way. He really enjoyed these games. And he liked that they were sharing information, no matter how unwilling it might have been. But at the mention of the non-humans, he smiled again and shifted the little red wagon over to his other hand, continuing that tug. "So you figure ou' wha' I am ye'?" Since they hadn't discussed at all what he was. He was actually considering telling her.. he had her secret, it was sort of proper that she had a secret of his, right? Only made sense to him.

"An' you righ', we don' nee' more o' him. Cu'e an' all, bu' he's dangerous. Well, f' one day outta 'de mont'.. bu' when 'dese people controllin' 'de nigh' an' day? 'Dey coul' leave 'de full moon up f' days, weeks, an' we coul' have 'dat beas' on our han's uh lon' time. Y' makin' uh plan t' contain him?" Because Remy, believe it or not, wanted to help. He just wanted to do it overtly. Behind the scenes.
