Connor winced at the very thought of Abby being dragged to this place. Granted, she wasn't one who'd take it lightly. She'd be all over the place, telling off the Management anywhere she thought they could hear. And since the possibility of dying was around every corner, maybe he'd actually make a bit of progress with her. But at the end of the day, he really didn't want her here.
Even if it might be nice for her to see him with friends who weren't completely dorky like him. And, you know, looking somewhat useful. Hmm.
He rocked back on his heels, giving his knuckles a stretch before he went back to the digging. "She reminds me a bit of you, actually," he admitted, his cheeks flushing a bit. "Spunky. Doesn't take anything from anyone. She loves animals. It's her whole life, honestly, she's a zookeeper when she's not running around dealing with portals through time and the like. Reptiles, they're her specialty." Yep, still rambling. And about another girl. Connor really would never learn. "We actually have a pet dinosaur at home. Rex, he's called. Little guy, flying sort, really kind of cute till he decides my scarf makes a better bed than his terrarium."
