He leaned in when she did, eyes cutting briefly to the side as if they were in fact teens having a bit of a private chat during gym class and someone might interrupt at any minute. The gym was, of course, mostly empty. And everyone in this place seemed to keep a bit to themselves anyhow, at least as far as Chris had noticed. He grinned slightly when Rose confirmed the bit about the soap opera but didn't comment. Chris was more interested in finding out about this kid she was talking about.
"So... once he got his soul back he wasn't a zombie anymore? He was just a kid then?" He supposed he could see a way for that to work. Souls didn't always immediately pass on and without a soul present, some other means could conceivably be found to animate a body. It was something he'd have to think about more to fully wrap his mind around but it made enough sense in the moment. That, and he was a little distracted from figuring out the logic once he noted the expression on Rose's face. He'd be a piss-poor whitelighter if he couldn't pick up on emotion at least a little.
Smiling softly, Chris shifted how he was leaning against the wall just slightly so he could take his hand out of his pocket, not disturbing where she was lightly touching his other arm. He reached out to tuck a few stray strands of hair behind her ear, smile growing a touch as he looked at her. "Always nice when there's a happy ending. Never seems like it happens enough, no matter how hard we try sometimes."
