Who: Sam Winchester and Andy Gallagher
What: Sam tells Andy what really happened at Cold Oak
Where: The Church
When: Day 18, mid-afternoon
Rating: TBA
Status: Complete

The meeting with the management had not gone well. Sam had no more answers than he had upon waking up that morning. He still hadn't heard from Shannon or heard from anyone who had seen her since the return of the others and he was beginning to worry. He thought he knew her well enough to know that she would've at least dropped him a line to tell him she was alright, even if she didn't necessarily want to come back to the museum. She knew he worried and if she'd had access to her journal at all, she would've known that they'd though she was dead. Her not speaking up said something that Sam didn't really want to think about just yet.

He tried to push those thoughts back as he approached the church and the familiar blue van parked beside it. Even though the majority of those who had been believed to have died were back he had not changed his new attitude towards the "management" as they'd taken to calling themselves. He was going to stop lying and making promises he couldn't keep and he was finding a way out for all of them. There was no question about that. Andy needed to know the truth about what had happened in Cold Oak. He needed to know that he would have to protect himself against Ava in case actually breaking the glass wall or finding a way out of it resulted in each of them going back to their own times.

It was a conversation that he wasn't looking forward to, one that he'd very carefully managed to side step until now, but he felt like it was the right thing to do. He stopped a few feet away from the van and took a deep breath before reaching out and knocking on the back door.

Andy paused, looking back at Sam before nodding once and turning his eyes downward to pack the bowl. Now, Sam had said. "Shit," he said quietly in response. Whatever it was that Sam had to say, if he was saying Andy could fire up Moby Dick right this minute, couldn't possibly be good news. In fact, Andy had a feeling it would be a punch in the gut, slap in the face, or something equally as painful-sounding an analogy.

It didn't take Andy long to empty a little of his bottled water into the necessary part of the device as well as pack it and fire it up. The tell-tale bubbling and whirl of smoke up the tube and into his mouth might've told Sam that Andy was more than ready to hear whatever shitty sentiment the other man was going to give, if, that was, Sam knew anything about bongs at all. Which, Andy decided, he probably didn't.

Leaning back in the seat, Andy rolled down the window with one hand and covered his mouth with the other as he hacked and coughed, tears springing to his eyes. He'd taken a pretty deep hit with the intention of getting fast effects to calm him down before Sam even started. Something told him that that was probably the best way to go. Instinctively, he offered Sam the bong without even realizing he was doing so. "Okay, hit me," he finally said as he exhaled the remaining smoke and closed his eyes, leaning his head back against the seat's headrest. "I'm ready." As I'll ever be, anyway, he thought but didn't vocalize.

Andy's whispered curse made Sam feel guilty and he reached up to rub his eyebrow as he continued staring out the window in front of him. After a moment he turned and watched Andy prepare the bong that Dean had called Moby Dick and then inhale.

He knew the process in theory, but he'd never actually seen anyone do it and there was a part of Sam who thought it was interesting. Who thought that lighting up might be an acceptable substitute for alcohol if he absolutely needed it. But beer and liquor was one thing, marijuana was another. Sam wasn't sure he wanted to go that far and he definitely didn't want to need to go that far.

He shook his head at Andy's offer to share the bong and then watched as Andy closed his eyes and prepared himself. Silence settled around the front of the van as Sam tried to figure out a way to say what he needed to. Telling himself he needed to just do it and actually breaking the news were proving to be two different things.

"Andy," he said slowly, his expression and voice serious. "One of these days we're going to get out of here and if we do...we might go back to our respective times. There's something that you need to know. Something that happens to you when you get there..." He swallowed, glancing out the window again. "Ava goes missing. Jake and I, we go looking for her and..." Sam's brow furrowed and he looked down at his hands. "She comes back, Andy. And when she does, she kills you."
