"Ah, like Jurassic Park?" Ava asked curiously, not really surprised as she might have been, because this place had everything else. So of course there were dinosaurs. "It was my favorite movie as a kid. Ended about the same way, I guess." Humanity getting what was coming to them. She had only seen the first, but had heard that the plots of each were pretty much the same. It seemed realistic, people never learning from their mistakes. She wasn't certain how stable this bubble was, but it wasn't really in her list of immediate concerns.
She listened about the beaches, never really thought of herself as the sunbathing and sandcastle sort, but there had never been much opportunity in her life to go on vacation. She tilted her head in surprise at the invitation, hadn't expected that the woman had any interest in spending time with her outside of the convenience of having a drinking partner for the night. Or maybe it was the alcohol talking. Ava wasn't the sort to keep her hopes up on the carry through of others, not that she suspected Isabela was insincere. She knew her issues were her own, and so nodded hesitantly at first before slamming her cup down a bit harder than intended. "Yes, okay. I want to go." And if she changed her mind later, well... she was pretty good at ghosting people when necessary. But in the moment at least she was committed to the idea.
"Those like you?" Ava asked, uncertain in which way the woman meant, no idea what a mage even was or what type of skills were required. "You can only do it with shadows?"
