Ava knew the painstakingly long process of research, that somebody could spend an entire lifetime to a specific study and still never discover the answers they were seeking. Despite being raised around it, or maybe because of, Ava knew it wasn't the sort of thing she had that patience for. She nodded in agreement, leaving things to professionals. People that put themselves in that category, at least. All she wanted to worry about, in the meantime, was herself.
She smiled at the solidarity of ordering the same drink, giving it a whiff and a shrug. Didn't smell as vile as the name might suggest, not that she had any idea what ass might taste like. "Ah, pirate, I've done a bit of illegal downloading myself," Ava joked, studying the woman a bit closer, had never met an actual pirate before. "Spent most of my career stealing things as well." And murder, but that was never a fun way to introduce herself.
Her eyebrows drew together a bit quizzically at the too of Isabela's observation. Wasn't ever that she met anyone with a similar sort of ability, although she suspected that learning it as a trick meant it wasn't come about by the same method. Ava carefully considered, before shrugging. "The trick for me is more of the opposite. Staying present. Whole." Wasn't as bad as it used to be at least, but the sort of thing that was a constant strain.
