Leia wrapped her arms around Rey and held on tightly. She understood how this place worked, and yet was still surprised to see Rey returned to them so quickly. "This place has no explanation," she told her, stepping back, her hands on Rey's shoulders to hold them both steady.
She searched Rey's feelings, her confusion - something she didn't do lightly but Rey was projecting so easily, so much. "You're not dead," she said. "I'm not dead either. This isn't some kind of afterlife. It's - another, parallel reality, made up of people from various worlds, various realities. It doesn't make much sense, but I'm here. And Poe's here. And - well, my brother's here as well, though he's - younger." Her mind turned to her most recent conversation with Luke, still so young, still unaffected by the events that were to come. "I'm glad you're here, too, Rey."
