Plot Synopsis

Once upon a time, a baker and his wife are unable to have children - turns out a gnarled old witch cast a curse on their family tree, after the baker's father stole magic beans from her; in return the witch also stole the couple's child, Rapunzel, keeping her locked in a tower. Three days before the rise of a blue moon, the baker and his wife venture into the woods to find the ingredients that will reverse the spell and restore the witch's beauty: a milk-white cow, hair as yellow as corn, a blood-red cape, and a slipper of gold. During their journey, they meet Cinderella (wishing to attend the King's Festival), Little Red Riding Hood (wishing for sweets and bread to bring to her sick grandmother), Rapunzel (wishing to leave her tower and experience the world), and Jack (wishing that his cow would give milk, to pave the way for a better life).

'Be careful what you wish for' seems to be a prevalent theme in this particular tale - by the end of Act I, everyone has gotten their wish and will seemingly live happily ever after. But in Act II, when Jack’s beanstalk brings them a visit from an angry giant, we see how the consequences of their actions haunt them in disastrous ways. No real-life relationships are that perfect, which really hits home when Rapunzel is driven to madness, Cinderella’s prince and the baker’s wife have a brief affair, and as more people get killed everyone else is content to play the blame game. In the midst of these dangerous times, characters eventually confront the imperfections in their lives and begin to accept them by working together. Act II ends on a good note - the giant is slain, the survivors have bonded, and the witch comes onstage to deliver a final message to the audience. They all get their happy ending, but it’s an ending that’s more realistic after coming through the trials and tribulations that are inherently a part of life.

	Dan attended with, I wanna say, the rest of the mortuary fam! He wanted to see Sabrina as Cinderella on opening night. And Cullen too! 	Yaaas, Zee was very excited to have a girl's night! She was super thrilled to see Grandpa Leo nail it as the Baker's Father, and brought him a box of gourmet dark chocolates to congratulate him! 	Ezio is here for Leonardo and will mouth along to his parts because he's heard a lot of practice these last few weeks. XD He brought a large pink peony and a basket of muffins for the ~baker's father~ and cheered a lot. He can't sing to save his life so he's always extra impressed by anyone who can. Allison came with Dan and the people. ;-; She's gonna just be proud of Sabrina and her general awesomeness.

Hazel came to support Sabrina and probably a little bit Persephone. She's just anxious over here. She wasn't sure whether or not to bring flowers, so she just brought her support.

Cleo, as promised, came to support Alexis. She brought her a bouquet of peach-colored flowers. I'm too lazy to find one. BUT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, OKAY?! But she'll def congratulate her.

Ash came at least one of the days for Alexis. He probably didn't really follow the story but he'd tell her she did good.

Marina probably went just to watch it. Idk which night, but one of them.

Hatter went with Alice. He's never seen a musical. WHAT IS THIS LIFE? But he'll have a lot of fun with it. Probably ask Alice what you're supposed to do at one of these things to avoid insult.

Annnnnd Doc would have come with Wynonna to support Dean and try not to be amused b/c Wynonna is amused.

Wynonna came to support Dean and just be generally amused by his being an overdramatic prince.

Alice went with Hatter because 1) he hasn't been to a musical before and 2) it seemed like a cute date night idea to her. She'll love it and be a very enthusiastic audience member since she doesn't really know anyone in the show, but she also won't be surprised to find out Evie did the costumes!

	Mal definitely came to at least one show if only to make sure the sets still looked good and didn't need any touch-ups and also to fawn over Evie's costumes. She probably really enjoyed the depiction of people that she actually knows from back home, seeing them in a different light than all the stories she knows them from. (Reply to this) (Parent)
