I've been here about a month now, and while there are some things that I miss from home, I really like it here. My brother, my boyfriend, and most of my friends from home are here. Everyone is really nice and understanding. I have a nice job at the clinic that I'm really liking, and I can put my healing skills to really good use there. I went out and got some things for the room that I do my healing sessions at the clinic to make it look nice and for it to be a relaxing environment for patients when they come by. I never thought this sort of place would be my reality, but if I have to be trapped somewhere, I guess there are worse places to be.

[Aang]

We should go on a date night. I heard there's a lot of fun things here that we can try. Or maybe we can go to Atlantis.

And Korra almost won this month's Fight Club and only needed a little bit of healing. Can't leave that off. I'm kind of sad to see that one of my opponents disappeared, though. I hope it wasn't my fault.

That's awesome! I'm really glad to hear that. That you did really well and you only needed a little bit of healing. Fight club really isn't my thing. Yeah, I can fight, but hand to hand for fun just doesn't appeal to me, I guess.

That's a little sad, but I don't think it was your fault? I'm fairly certain that we don't have any control over who stays and goes here. If we did, I wouldn't have let Zuko get sent home.

Oh it's not about the fun though yeah it can be good fun but also about testing yourself and keeping your skills sharp. Hitting bags and mannequins only does so much, and sparring is always holding back. Plus I'm getting better at fighting without bending, and I wouldn't have that without it.

Yeah, I know. Just makes me sad. If I had control over it, Lor Zuko would still be here. I should check on Iroh.

I should probably learn how to defend myself without bending just in case, because having been chi-blocked, not being able to bend in a fight suddenly like that is scary. But I think I'll just sign up for one of the self-defense classes over a fight club.

It is sad. I wish Zuko hadn't been sent home, too. I guess it's not bad knowing that we're all technically still there when he goes back, but I do miss him. It feels weird not having him here with us. I've been trying to make sure that Iroh's okay, too.

It feels odd saying this but I don't think this version of you is old enough for the fight club anyway, but if you want to learn some self-defense, I've been teaching it! It'd be nice teaching you something for a change, anyway!

Yeah, I can see where people wouldn't feel comfortable fighting a fourteen-year-old. Though I've seen grown men voluntarily fight Toph, so I guess it's different everywhere. I would love to learn from you, Korra. I don't really know a lot of fighting techniques that don't involve bending.

To be fair I think Toph was terrifying even as a toddler.

But yeah, I would really enjoy it. You were always there for me when I was growing up, it'd be just wrong to not try and use this chance to sort of return the favor.

I mean, even I have to admit, Toph can be very terrifying when she wants to. I can only imagine what she's like in the future for you.

I'm glad I was able to be. I know things were a little weird between us at first, but I'm glad that we've been able to become friends.

Kind of exactly the same, but old.

Same! Okay, so when do you want to start?

That's not surprising, honestly. I can't really think of her anyway.

Maybe this weekend? I have some free time when I'm not at the clinic.

I like to think that I have! It helped that Aang, Toph, and Sokka were already here for a couple of weeks when I arrived, and were able to help me adjust quickly.

How've you been settling in, Asami? I know you were looking for work. Did you find anything yet?

I know that all of you being here made it a lot easier for me to adjust, too. Even if things are obviously different, just having so many from home has been good.

I did, actually! I feel like I got lucky finding something so quickly, but I won't complain.

It really is. It's like having this support system that knows exactly what you're going through. I mean, everyone here does, but it's nice having people from home here that you can count on.

That's amazing! I felt the same way when I found my job, too. I didn't think anyone would hire me because of my age.

I'm glad you're feeling comfortable here, Katara. I hope if that changes, we can talk about ways to make it better.

[Katara]
Oh! Okay! Uhhhhhhh I don't What are you thinking of us doing? Cause I kind of thought the stuff we'd been doing was dates? You know, like flying around on Appa and exploring and making the house nice...I don't know what dates are.

Of course, Aang. Having you and everyone else here really helps.

[Aang]

I mean, I guess spending time together can be considered a date? But I was thinking we could go to dinner or try something like seeing a movie. Or something else. It looks like there might be a lot of fun things to try here.

A movie! Okay! Maybe we go skating too? I've seen people with the boots with the wheels on a sign and it looks like a lot of fun. Maybe PAINFUL fun but still.

That sounds perfect. I've been ice-skating at home, so maybe it won't be that different? Well, except the skates have wheels instead of blades. We can learn together.

I think they're a lot alike. They should be anyway?? I don't actually know, I just liked the idea of racing along on little wheels.

It does! Dr. Chakarabarti is really nice, too. Working with him has been great. And he doesn't seem to mind that I'm young, too. The hospital told me I was too young to work there, but he was willing to give me the chance and do something that I love, which is helping to heal people.

Ravi is a sweetheart for sure. I think he understands our need for a variety of doctors and healers outweighs age limits. And I assume you don't need eight years of schooling to be a healer.

He doesn't treat me like a little kid, which is really nice of him. As for schooling, aside from a couple of lessons, everything I learned about using waterbending to heal, I taught myself. I mastered waterbending at fourteen. Healing is just something that comes naturally to me. It's actually a special skill. Not every waterbender is a healer.
