Okay. I know I probably should've been checking in a little more but there was a lot of new and different tech for me to learn and then familiarize myself with. It's been fun and, occasionally, frustrating but I've learned so much and everyone I've worked with here is as helpful and wonderful as you would hope they would be.

Rambling. Sorry.

Anyway, I wanted to give you all a time frame. With a little help, I'm thinking this thing can be up and running by the end of the month. I want to bring on a few more people to help me get things set up and to test things and work out any problems that might arise. I'm going to do that now and see if I find anyone interested. If anyone has suggestions or if a name pops up in the replies anyone is a little iffy about, please let me know.

[Edited in later...] This is about the comms. For Atlantis.

Hello to anyone new out there I haven't had the chance to introduce myself to yet. I'm Ray Palmer. I'm a scientist working alongside the DOA and the DOD. I'm currently working on a project and I was hoping to find a few tech-savvy people who might be able to help me with both set up and testing. Must be comfortable both in and out of the lab, possibly, for long hours.

This is totally different from the voice thing. I'm still not a sea witch

He’s talking about comms for Atlantis. Think that got lost in the rambling.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! I should probably go back and make that clear...

Two more weeks. I'm excited to get things up and running so we aren't all cut off when we're down here. I've missed SO MUCH

Thanks, Arthur. I'll let you know.

I think we're ready to move into the testing phase and see whether or not any of this works. It's actually a really exciting time.

My pleasure, man. Get your jollies where you can, this is probably a once in a lifetime chance here.

Oh and don't I know it. I know a lot of this was just the luck of the draw, I guess. I was already on the payroll and you might as well go with the nerd you have rather than bringing someone completely new in but, still, thank you all so much for this.

Nothing wrong with a good ramble!
This sounds great though, Ray. Let me know if you need anything.

Tell that to my team back home.

I'll definitely let you know.

And thank you all so much for trusting me with this.

Hello! I'm Asami Sato and I am tech-savvy, comfortable in and out of a lab, and can handle long hours. If you're still looking for people, of course.

Hi! I'm definitely still looking for people so any help you'd be willing to provide would be more than appreciated.

You're relatively new here, right? Have you been told about Atlantis?

Hey. Depends what you mean by a lab? I'm mostly a computer and systems guy, but I'm pretty tech savvy. I'm Alex.

Have you been to Atlantis yet?

I definitely haven't been. I think I got here after that all happened. But I've heard a little bit about it.

Oh. I really need to get myself out there more.

You don't have any problems with magic, right? There's a spot we meet at, a little big of magic, and then we're merpeople.

If you aren't comfortable with that I'll definitely need help up here, too.

You and me both. It's kind of hard to walk up to people you've grown up watching or reading about and just introduce yourself though.

I don't have any problem with it, I just don't understand it very well yet. Being a merperson sounds kind of amazing. I'm missing half a leg though - will that interfere?

If it helps, so many of them are really nice. If you can get passed freaking out or rambling at them. The network makes it a little easier. You can freak out in private where they can't see it. Unless they're psychic or probably a Jedi. They can probably tell.

That's fine. I can't say I understand much about it either but I know it's safe. I've been doing it kind of daily for the past few weeks.

I honestly don't think it will interfere too much though I'm not sure how it will manifest in the transformation. You can always give it a try and see what happens. If it turns out being something you're uncomfortable with or something you feel might hinder you too much they can turn you back and you can help us out up here.

They seem to be, but still a little intimidating when I used to hide their comics under my bed. You sound like you've had some experience with it?

Yeah? Has it stopped being awesome yet?

I'm up for seeing how it goes. If it turns out I can only swim in circles, then I can stay to the surface, like you said. But I'm curious to find out, gotta admit.

No, I know exactly what you mean. I'm actually a pretty big Star Wars and Doctor Who fan... Star Trek, too, but we don't have Captain Kirk running around. I get it. I have completely lost my mind around both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Clara Oswald. I've tried to avoid the Doctor as much as possible.

It has not. It's still just as awesome.

We can definitely do that. Also, if you decide you hate we can work around that too.

Pretty much the same on all of those, though I didn't get to watch a lot of them until later on. Star Wars was always all right in my family, so I always loved those. How do you know what to say to the Doctor though? They're the cleverest person alive pretty much.

That's what I thought.

Thanks, I appreciate the accommodations. But I'd like to try, it sounds pretty cool.

That was, basically, my childhood. I wasn't, exactly, popular so I spent more time reading, watching sci-fi movies, watching the best musical ever, and rescuing animals. Also, I don't think I could ever talk to the Doctor without coming across as a giant idiot so...

To be fair, I think most things are pretty neat.

Sure! You can definitely do that and let me know what you think

Yeah, there were a lot of comic books and novels for me, not as many movies. But I made up for it later. So what's the best musical ever?

I think anyone would think that was neat.

I will. So when and where should I meet you?

Singing in the Rain, obviously. There are a few that come in a close second but nothing tops that one.

Hopefully you do, too. I can understand that it might make people anxious.

You can stop by the lab whenever you have a moment. I'll show you around and then we'll head down to the meeting point by the coast. That way if you decide it's not going to work you'll be familiar with the lab.

I won't argue with you! I never really got into musicals so I haven't seen that many.

All right, sounds good. I'll stop by tomorrow morning then. Looking forward to it, thanks for the opportunity.
