Apologies to anyone near the pond by the Quills this morning, I was attacked by what looked like a devilish, evil sort of flying seahorse? I've had a few friends in my life that wouldn't have minded adding knives to their tails, but this just seems a bit extreme for all parties involved.

But! If your walls shook or you heard an annoyingly loud screech, that was me dispatching the beast, so the pond is safe again for the time being. But it did a good job at scaring the fish away, much to my annoyance.

Keep alert, my friends.

[MUSKETEERS]

Before you get worried, I'm no worse for wear than that tavern fight in le Havre. I doubt the cut will even scar. You're welcome to tell me how magnificent my song sounded, though, it's been a while.
[OOC: Anyone that lives in the Quills or visiting or could be nearby is free to have heard and felt (like a vibrating earthquake goes through them for a few seconds) his siren scream! It wouldn't harm you but it might make you feel a little woozy for a minute.]

It sounded like a siren. I have not seen one in many years. But I have killed more than a dozen of these. They are very fragile.

You would be right, friend. Aramis, at your service. I found it shattered fairly easily, provided I was fighting it head on.

Then it sounds like you need to watch your back. They're also rather quiet.

I was just trying to peacefully fish this morning! But at least now I know what to look for, and in my defense, I'm not used to seahorses being hostile.

I am used to everything being hostile.

That must be exhausting.

Annoying is a better word.

A similar feeling in many ways.

I do not recall the last time I felt exhausted. I will take your word for it.

I have a toddler, I'm exhausted constantly. Tell me your secrets.

I am a god.

But raising Atreus was the closest I've been to exhaustion. My sympathies.

That would do it.

He has a lot of energy as a man, I can only imagine as a child. Tristan will likely be the same.

He has grown well, and there is evidence he will continue to do so. Is your Tristan also a siren?

A testament to your parenting. He is, and that's the reason why he's in my care and not with his mother.

You're suggesting you can control what this places gives or takes?

Mm, no, not in other circumstances. But back home he wouldn't have been with me at all if he wasn't a siren - he was hidden away from the royal court because his mother is the queen and her husband is decidedly not a siren. Had he not taken after me, I wouldn't have had him in my arms.

Used your song to aim high, I see. Not that I care for kings. They rarely see past their nose.

Hm. Children are special. If you need assistance or protection, the sanctuary is available.
