Apologies to anyone near the pond by the Quills this morning, I was attacked by what looked like a devilish, evil sort of flying seahorse? I've had a few friends in my life that wouldn't have minded adding knives to their tails, but this just seems a bit extreme for all parties involved.

But! If your walls shook or you heard an annoyingly loud screech, that was me dispatching the beast, so the pond is safe again for the time being. But it did a good job at scaring the fish away, much to my annoyance.

Keep alert, my friends.

[MUSKETEERS]

Before you get worried, I'm no worse for wear than that tavern fight in le Havre. I doubt the cut will even scar. You're welcome to tell me how magnificent my song sounded, though, it's been a while.
[OOC: Anyone that lives in the Quills or visiting or could be nearby is free to have heard and felt (like a vibrating earthquake goes through them for a few seconds) his siren scream! It wouldn't harm you but it might make you feel a little woozy for a minute.]

Ah! Hm, it responded well to a long-ranged assault with sonic sounds? Shattered into a million little pieces. Surprisingly quiet for something with a blade built into its tail, but when it was spinning, it sounded a bit like those bladed fans I've seen around here.

That is helpful. I'll know what to listen for. The shattering part is interesting too. I almost wish I still had my sonic devices.

Almost? Did they do something to annoy you?

No. When I died, my sister took up my mantle and made it her own. She modified my device to work specifically with her vocal cords. When I came back to life (long story) I wasn't going to demand them back or anything. Then I just got use to not having them. After she died they were modified again for others to use, but it just didn't feel like it was mine anymore. I didnt need them.

I'm sorry I brought up a sad memory, but that all sounds understandable. You're in a good place now otherwise?

You didn't bring up a sad memory, don't worry. I'm happy to find things that remind me of her. I was the one that brought the the device up anyway. It would be handy to have at the moment, but there is always a work around.

Good, then, I'm glad. At any rate, you seem wonderfully adaptable, but if you need any assistance, I'm happy to help.

I wouldn't be much of a time traveler if I couldn't adapt. 🤷🏼‍♀️

That is one of the best things I've heard yet. Is it odd being stuck in one place? Is that something you're used to doing frequently?

It was a readjustment. It's something I was recruited to about 5 years ago. I miss it, but I haven't always been able to jump to whatever time and place I want.
