Are you-- How's-- Do--

Fuck

Do you have any plans for this upcoming Friday night?

A young man came into the smithy this morning. He was a little depressed? looking for someone to teach metalworking. I offered, though said I'd talk to you about it first. Is it alright, if I take on an apprentice of sorts? I'll take full responsibility for him, and it won't interfere with my work in any way.

Just started and already taking on apprentices? That's some initiative! And here I was worried you might end up being something of a loner :) Please, go ahead! I look forward to seeing you teach someone else about the joys of the craft.

I've been told I should attempt to not be a loner, otherwise I probably would have just sent him to you.

But alright, thank you. He seems nice enough, eager to learn.

Pass my thanks to whoever gave you that advice, because life's too short to go through it alone. That's why I say the more the merrier here at the smithy. And if you ever feel he's ready to take on projects, we can consider hiring him on!

I suppose it is. Even I dislike being alone all the time.

I'll start him off with simple things, and we'll work our way up. I'll keep you updated.

I'm really glad you're doing so well here, then. Coming to Vallo is an opportunity, the way I see it. So many possibilities that probably wouldn't be available at home.

But yes, please do! But you can also bring me problems if they come up, too.

That's a positive outlook. I'm not usually one to go that route, but here - I'm trying. There are times I wish I could be where I feel like I have purpose as well. Genosha was like that for me.

I will, thank you. I gave him a list of what safety equipment he'll need so we'll work carefully.

Thank you, Brigitte. I'm glad we're friends.

If that's an okay term to use.

Good to know. It's not my forte, as you can imagine. So sometimes I just have to check.

There's a birthday party happening for one of my co-workers. For some reason I received an invitation-- If you're interested in attending with me?

I gotta see if I can get a babysitter, but I should be able to make it.

I'm kinda curious why you're inviting me to go with you though.

Of course. If you can't, just let me know.

I'm not what I would call a social person. Parties are - not generally my thing. I thought it might be nice to have someone there to ensure I don't run out after ten minutes.

I reckon you're probably right about the social thing. But I can do that. How long are you wanting to stay and what kind of party is this?

Perhaps just a couple of hours? I'm not sure I could handle more than that. The party's at a bar, a birthday celebration. I should find a gift though, it would be rude not to.

I can do a couple of hours. As for the gift, you could always just make something with your powers. Something that you reckon your coworker could have use for or like. Then you ain't gotta bother with shopping.

I'm terrible at shopping anyway so that seems like a good idea. He's something of a cowboy, used to sleep in the woods. Maybe he'd like a fancy dagger.

You must be talking about Doc. A dagger or a belt buckle, but I'd go with the fancy dagger.

Yes. You know him?

I've found myself someone to teach metalworking to as well. A young man who just wandered into the smithy and wanted to learn. It was almost bizarre.

No, just chatted to him a few times on the network.

What's his name? And I reckon that's a good thing. It's nice when you can share your knowledge with others.

Ah. I haven't spent much time with him outside work, but we talk occasionally. He does the leatherworking there.

Noah. He's into art. So I'll teach him how to make metal sculptures.

You should try socializing with him some outside of work. I bet you'd get along well.

He lives at the Barns. I know I've seen him there when I take Anka Irene to see the animals. But Noah will definitely try to absorb whatever you can teach him.

I suppose I could try. Maybe we could go for a beer after work sometime.

He seemed a little depressed, but perked up when I said I'd make him some tools to start with. I'll see how it goes. How is Anka Irene, anyway?

I reckon he'd enjoy that and you might too.

This is sorta his second chance at life. I know he was dead before at one point.

You're probably right, but that's not unusual.

In that case, it's good he's seeking out new hobbies and new opportunities.

Of course, tea parties. My daughter-- Nina loved those too. We had a ceramic set, with petals and ivy all on the cups and saucers.

It really is.

I reckon its something most kids enjoy doing at least at some point. I know I played it when I was lil. Our set ain't that fancy though.
