I understand there have been happenings this week, but I ask forgiveness as I talk about myself as today marks the end of my first week as a teacher of music, a sentence that I would have never imagined saying at almost any point in my life. As unexpected a change of pace, though, it's a real good one. It was a rewarding week and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes moving forward.

Though, for the record: if any of your young ones come home with songs that might easily get stuck in your head, I apologize in advance.

Not at all! Violin was my first instrument and the one I know best, but I also play most other string instruments and the piano, so I could teach those as well.

How do you know what someone might be good at?

It's not always obvious, but I think we would just see which one was most interesting to the student after introducing to the various options and then give it a shot. If it didn't click, we could try something else.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Okay, I will ask my dads if I can try! I would first like to try the violin because Sherlock Holmes plays the violin and I would like to experience that. There are two things I need to tell you first and they are that I look like a bird which is very normal for me but not normal for everyone else and the second is that I ask a lot of questions. Is this okay?

Like a bir Both of those things are quite all right. I'm used to being around people who ask a lot of questions and I figure there's no other way to learn if you don't, so that won't be a problem at all.
