That managed to get a bit of laughter out of her because honestly before she'd truly seen him she'd thought the whole yellow pages thing had been a joke. the odd thing was, she still felt it was, just not the way she'd seen it. For a moment she thought about mentioning Molly, but opening up the wounds of those that weren't here just seemed cruel so she didn't. "And everyone else too. One day you'll tell me just how long it took you to add 'not for parties' into all that."
"You made the offer Dresden. Can't take it back now." she gave with half a smile, letting the dig about her height slide, yet getting even on her own terms. "I'll even invest in a little bell." She was far to independent, stubborn really, to accept help. She'd be on her feet soon enough, capable of doing things herself and asking for help would not even come onto her list. chances were if she could she'd leave as soon as she could and not have him fuss too much. The comment about wanting to kill him was something she ignored. A touch too close to everything, really. Instead she just returned the squeeze. Normally he'd have needed to leave already, so she was glad he could stay.
He wasn't wrong. Plenty of ex-cops that went into the P.I. business though because there was something about catching the bad guys that never left you, even as the badge went away. "No, not a cop again." It would always feel like leaving something behind, disappointing her father, but protecting people meant more then rigidly following laws, writing reports, and trying to impress people who honestly didn't deserve it. And she'd gotten used to doing things her way. "It's probably all different here." She glanced to the package she'd gotten and considered that and what he was saying. And she could repay the debt she felt she owed. "Alright."
