That brings up an interesting point. I suppose that all depends on what you're playing at. Footballers play quite frequently and make a lot of money. Or baseball or any other professional sport. Especially in this country. Even the college-level players make a pretty penny for their efforts in bribes if not in legitimate wages. It is not a typical, nor fair, outcome, but I suppose we cannot say flatly that "playing" does not accrue an income. Attending university, on the other hand, wants to make a person penniless, and most would consider it work due to societal pressures to excel and continue on in education and in life. Entering the workforce is what makes money for the former students, but what is there to look forward to but a life of making less money than those who play?
