LOOK, IT'S THE INTERNET. I keep forgetting to use it.

Anyway.

This is a drunk post, which is like a drunk dial except better.

Also I'm a fantastically boring drunk, I can type straight and everything.

I really, really wanted to provide you with the link to a song I heard the other day, featuring the line "This is not a drunk dial" – but I can't seem to find what it's called.

I'm horribly disappointed, Sif. I hope you are, too.

Yep. Crushed.

Oooh, Crush. I should put some of that in this!

What is the uncrushed part of this?

It's a boozebomb. Like a soda bomb except it's a mixture of the first three alcohols I pulled off the shelf.

So I can't actually remember. Sorry. Vodka, whiskey sour aaaaand something else?

... my god, Sif, that sounds ... dangerous.

Potentially disgusting, or alternatively really good, depending on your luck and your liquor-shelf-arranging habits.

So does it taste good without the crush? I could make guesses.

It tastes at least okay but the point of the endeavor was more just to do it than worry about what it tastes like. I also kind of just like the taste of alcohol.

So should I guess "Everclear"?

It's possible! I really just don't remember.

Did Crushing it improve it, then, after all?

I would have suggested straight lime juice, myself, but I'm not always the wisest advisor in this matter.

Well it made it sweeter! Which I think is an improvement. And fruitier, which is nice, as I like fruity drinks.

I don't think I actually keep the Everclear in this cabinet, for this exact reason, so it probably wasn't.

Hmmmm.

Vodka, whiskey sour, and...

• Hershey's syrup
• Galliano
• Champagne
• Grenadine
• Dill pickle brine
• Absinthe
• Southern Comfort
• Amaretto
• Ginger liqueur
• Any of an assortment of rum types
• Cognac
• Vermouth
• Cooking sherry
• Rataffia
• Tabasco or Worcestershire sauce
• Any of an assortment of schnapps flavours
• Liquid smoke
• Bacon-flavour vodka
• Any other third (or second) vodka with some specific flavour

Any of these sound right?

Well, I can tell you it wasn't Hershey's, pickle brine or liquid smoke.

And I've never had bacon-flavored vodka, either.

The other meat sauces aren't in my liquor cabinet either. Or else I really hope they're not.

It might've been vermouth, though!

I'm told that Southern Comfort, Amaretto, and lime juice makes for a nice cocktail, although now I can't remember what the fourth ingredient is some people add. Damn.

Apparently, the bacon-flavoured vodka makes for a mean Bloody Mary.

Plus a dash of vodka makes an Officer Down, if that's the one you're thinking of?

Ew.

I don't actually like bacon.

Yes! That was it. A classmate from uni's older brother was in the Metropolitan Police, and always drank that. She teased him that it looked like dish soap.

So much for my plans to waylay you with a BLT-drink picnic, I suppose. Damn.

I'd take a tomato sandwich, but not so much the pork products, thanks so much.

I didn't really think it did! Look like dish soap. I mean, okay, the color is like dish soap, but it's not -- soapbubbly.

Well, dish soap squirted into water, really – the sort of roiling part where the different liquids interact, I think, is what she meant.

Sif, do you keep kosher? Or just not like pork?

I just don't like pork -- I was raised an atheist and I've got no Jewish heritage as far as I'm aware.

My little racial secret is actually that my mother is Black. Not that it's something I keep secret or try to hide, but people tend to not believe it.

... well, I will admit that I wouldn't have guessed it to look at you, but I'm willing to believe it, at least!

You have, however, managed to associate yourself in my mind with the TV show Leverage. I leave it to you to decide whether or not that's a good thing.

Once you're sober.
