I'll never understand people, I think. If you have only one thing and there are multiple lanes open, including four self checkouts, why would you pick to stand behind the one person that has a full buggy? If he'd come up behind us BEFORE we started ringing, I probably would let him go through to be polite. But the cashier had already started ringing us up when he came up with one jar of salsa and took a look at our overflowing buggy and just went "Really?" Which... I didn't think much of, honestly. Our family has two grown men and two growing kids and we're doing our shopping for the week. We go through a LOT of food! I get it, I wouldn't want to stand behind us either.

But I'd have gone to look for a different line. And instead he just stood there behind us, staring, while he occasionally banged on the counter with his jar of salsa. Which then turned into him letting out these loud grunts that sounded like a dying donkey. I was trying to ignore it because I had the girls with me and I didn't want to make a scene. Well, more of a scene than he was already making.

...Meanwhile Laurel is definitely Amycus' daughter, because she finally turned around and looked at him and said "You're rude!"

And that's when I lost it. Because as much as I was trying to hold onto my composure and ignore his antics, I couldn't after that. Luckily he didn't say anything to her about what she said or to me as I'm laughing like an idiot. I think only because we were done and could make our escape back out into the parking lot before he could say anything. I really hope the cashier got to go on break after she was done with him.

It was fun explaining to my husband at dinner why our daughters kept going "UUUHHHGH" to each other and breaking out into giggles at dinner, though.

Don't make it out like you didn't burst into giggles a few times with them love.

Considering how hard I laughed when you finally told me? Undoubtedly.

I just don't ...Part of me wonders if we were on one of those "what would you do" shows? But no, there were no camera crews. This was just real life. Somehow.

Can we blame Orange County for this somehow?

Not to mention your animals. Was the man drunk?

Oh the grocery store doesn't sell their food, we get that from the pet store. But there's still cat litter, dog shampoo, and things like that. so...

I don't think so. Just. Insufferable.

I'm now imagining you two having to carry Aslan's food through Pet Co or whichever one you go too and laughing.

It would have almost been understandable if it had been.

The dog food is always kept in the very back, too. All the way in the very back. So's the catfood, in the other direction.

This is why I have her food delivered.

I guess we probably could do that, too. I'm just afraid of timing it wrong so that they either always never have enough food, or they've got more than we need.

I think I'd have just started adding more stuff to the cart. A candy bar. A magazine I noticed on the next aisle. Anything to make him have to wait longer everytime he made that sound.

I kind of wish I'd thought about it, and the girls have been really good lately. And we could have gotten more carrots and apples so we'd have some to take to the stables...

And it's so much easier to leave the cart there and just run and get them.

Also fruit cups, the girls can never have enough fruit cups in the house for a healthy snack.
