Actually the current belief among animal behavioral scientists is that they don't - they kill to provide for their colony which when they live with humans includes us. They bring prey from hunts to provide for the members who can't hunt for whatever reason.
And even if they did kill for sport? They're less likely to kill trophies. Or target prey just to get at someone else through them.
