Bast be praised I finally have more dreams.

It seems our interrogation of Klaw was short lived as he was broken out of our custody by some of his partners in crime. Only, one of them was wearing a ring identical to my father's. Only one other person had a ring like that one - my Uncle N'Jobu.

But there's no time to reflect, as Ross was hurt in the firefight. We take him back to Wakanda - much to Okoye's objections - where Shuri works on healing him. I find Zuri, our spiritual leader, and confront him about this ring. He tells me a story I never heard before - the real story behind my Uncle's death.

My father killed him in order to save Zuri's life, then covered it up by not even bringing his own brother's body home. And worst of all, my Uncle had a son - the very man who is working now with Klaw. My father left him there in America too.

I don't know what to do with this information. My whole life my father has lied to me about what happened to my Uncle and I don't know why.

Maybe your father lied as a way of coping. Taking a life is a hard thing to live with. Or maybe he was trying to protect you from knowing that your father killed your own uncle.

Yes, taking a life is hard. And it was self defense, as Zuri told it. But as the Black Panther, he could have neutralized my Uncle a different way. I know this as I was trained in the same manner he was.

Either way, leaving him there instead of taking his body home and explaining to the council and the people what had happened, was wrong. And so was abandoning his nephew.

Killing his own brother could not have been easy on your father. Perhaps he kept it from you to help save himself the pain of it.

You have the power to speak to the dead in your dreams, do you not? Perhaps you will be able to ask him yourself in due time.

That is a possibility, yes, Laurence. But his brother was also a traitor, and I think perhaps his fear of what the people would think that the king's own brother was an extremist would not have sat well with many.

This set of memories differ than my older dreams. In that timeline, I could speak to the dead and conjure them to fight at my command. But in this new set of dreams, the only way to speak to the dead is if I partake of the heart shaped herb and go through a ritual. And this can only happen after my powers are stripped from me and then given back by the herb (and then that only happens after winning the throne in combat).

I wish these new dreams made it that easy.

No, I suppose not. Depending on how he ruled, perhaps he would not want them to know that he had killed his own brother as well.

That sounds... quite complicated. I imagine that is a set of circumstances that does not frequently arise. I am sorry.
