Well, I have to say my dream lover actually does romantic marriage proposals very well. He does know his flowers. A red tulip symbolizes a declaration of love. Now I am certain my offering to run across London collecting flower samples to fill his herbarium was no mere accident. I sense a set up on his part.

Though I simply must send my brother a bouquet of narcissus flowers. He most certainly loves himself above all else.

That's ... really sweet! I'd love get Blake flowers but sweeping romantic gestures would probably backfire right now...

He certainly is sweet, yes.

See, it doesn't all have to be bad ;)

I suppose not, though it was touch and go for a while because I was being stupid. Which is a trait that carried over here because I was stupid here as well.

Sooo how are things? On that front?

In this life, I'm assuming you mean? Things are great. Freya and I got together back in January.

So am I, despite my attempts to ruin it before even starting.

I could give you another talking to if that happened.

Luckily for everyone, I'm totally not jumping out of a window to avoid emotions again. So that shouldn't be needed.

I mean, emotions suck. So I get that.

It wasn't so much that emotions suck, it was that I was afraid of them and ran away. Because I'm clearly a mature adult like that.

Maybe I'll have some epic romance in my dreams.

Perhaps you will! This romance was rather unexpected.

I do, yes. It became better when I stopped being stupid about it.

No, god no. More like I'd chosen to save my lover instead of retrieving what we needed to keep a powerful artifact out of the hands of people who would use it to enslave humanity. I proceeded to blame myself and break things off with him while being angry at myself for losing focus on the mission and being blinded by my emotions.

Emotions can be useful, though.

It entirely depends on the emotions. I've always been the rational one. My brother is the emotional one.

Well, I have that noted down now. Of course I can't tell you when or anything as it ruins the surprised.

I tend to like surprises, so I wouldn't even try to pry a when out of you there.

I didn't realize there were that many different types of flowers in London.

What was your favorite he sent you to gather?

[info]thesilentknife

You know, it's hard to say. There were several types I hadn't heard of before. Though I've always been a traditionalist, so a rose was nice, as well as some other more well-known flowers.

Are you saying that he sent you the flowers that you collected? Or am I reading that wrong?

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]thesilentknife
2018-03-28 03:49 am UTC (link)
No, he sent me flowers he actually bought. Or maybe he picked them himself, it's hard to tell. I would have probably slapped him or something had he used flower samples I'd collected to propose to me.

In that case, he sounds like a good man. Had he sent you the flowers you had collected, I wouldn't have blamed you for slapping him.

He is a good man, though my brother thinks otherwise. Then again, siblings tend to be highly suspicious of anyone who catches their sibling's eye.

I think it's the job of a sibling to be wary of the person their siblings are dating at first.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]thesilentknife
2018-04-01 05:47 am UTC (link)
It certainly is. Though my brother doesn't tell me when he's dating someone. Probably because he knows I'd run a background check on them or something.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]finninabox

That is one reason my siblings and I tend to not tell our parents when we're dating someone. At least I wouldn't put it past my parents to do that.

Good idea there. I also just happen to know my brother is terrible at making life choices, so I may go a little overboard in trying to make sure he stops making messes of things.
