I think a year will be just enough time for me to get together three or four cars to offer, depending on what I can find and how much work each of them needs.
It wouldn't really be costing me anything. I'd be intending to buy and fix the cars to flip regardless. I wouldn't be making as high of a profit as I would if I were selling the cars on, say craigslist or anything, but that's not really the point. Plus, if I add a finder's fee I still come out ahead.
I talked with my business partner about the workshops and he's on board. We'd be happy to offer our garage a couple of Sunday afternoons a month to run workshops to teach the kids basic maintenance as well as the discount for the kids who end up buying the cars to come to get their oil changes and regular maintenance. It'll be good for us and good for the kids. Everyone wins.
