Wait, I thought that this whole Tide pod challenge thing was a joke, but I just saw an actual video of people eating them. I'm not sure if I should actually be surprised that there are people that stupid.

Nature's way of weeding out the gene pool. Though maybe that ain't fair. We do got a shit education system that don't teach kids to think critically and most parents I've met lately are idiots too.

But do people really need to be taught not to eat soap?

People had to be taught not to eat hemorrhoid cream.

Are you serious? Why would people do that?

Dunno, but there's a warning label for it now.

Every warning label is because someone was stupid enough to do it, or a company was screwing people over.

Like McDonald's coffee being labeled hot, wasn't the lady's fault. They'd set their coffee illegally hot and with an insecure lid, with no warnings about the temperature, so it gave her third degree burns on her thighs and pelvis.

I just don't understand people.

People in general are good. In large numbers they're idiots.

I totally agree with this.

I wish it were a joke. We had to go and pick up a patient last night who couldn't stop vomiting. Of course, we got there and he'd eaten a couple of them.

What makes these people think this could possibly be a good idea?

Well, that's the thing. Stupid people don't think.

No, I guess they don't.

Are you sure it wasn't a joke video?

I thought it might have been at first, but then I googled this whole thing and it's real.

Maybe instead of childproofing things they should figure out a way to teenageproof them to discourage people doing shit like that.

I just don't get it. People have been doing these things that I never would have thought to do.

I never would have either. Let alone videotaped it.

I'm not surprised by anything people do anymore.

I mean, why would people think this would be okay?

Too much time on their hands and not enough braincells?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]sonof_

And if they keep doing this stuff they'll have even less brain cells.

Which is actually pretty scary because then think what they'll do.

I don't even want to think about what they'll do then.

Yuck.

People should challenge them to donate the detergent to shelters instead. A little thing like clean clothes can mean a lot to someone that doesn't have much.

If they're stupid enough to eat the detergent, I don't think they're going to think about donating it.

I just don't understand how anyone got the bright idea of "hey, you know what would be really fun to eat? something that dissolves stuff in the wash"

See, when I was a kid I knew my mom was bluffing about making me eat soap. Not only would she never have done it, I also wouldn't have volunteered to do it.

I always wondered if washing someone's mouth out with soap would be harmful.

[info]outsidethewalls

It really can't be good for you. Especially if you accidently swallow it. There's a reason there's a warning even on toothpaste and mouthwash not to swallow it, after all.

Yeah, probably don't want to go and eat soap as a midnight snack.
