It is absolutely ridiculous to dream of your own death and then wake up to go about your day.

Not as if it was a surprise - since the same pneumonia nearly killed me here - but at least that heart attack on a bench was somewhat quick, and the last thing I saw was my wife and daughter, shopping in the distance. I knew I was going to die, I made peace with the end of my life and all that happened during. When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it. I had time, but I did not know it. And I had love, but I did not feel it. Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three. And now, the twilight of my life, this understanding has passed into contentment was what I told Sofia, in my last letter to her.

The letter was with me when I woke up. So was a skeleton, but interestingly, it was not my skeleton - that would be even weirder, no? But for awhile, after escaping my own execution, I had spent so much time tracking down these keys to open the library of the legendary Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad - it was a race to get there before the Templars did, since we all believed that library was bursting with secrets. But inside there were no books, just Altaïr's skeleton. And another Apple of Eden, hidden, but I refused to take it. It would only bring about more suffering, more hardships - and I had seen enough. It was then I left behind my sword and my Hidden Blade. I left behind my life as an Assassin.

Certamente, none of that helps in deciding what to do about a skeleton now, but - that phrase 'skeletons in the closet' has more literal meaning.

I do not know if 'cool' would be the word to describe it, but yes, there is the skeleton of a legendary Assassin in my home.

i guess i just like skeletons. well, i like a lot of morbid things, which works for me. forensic photography and all. never known any assassins before, though. but i guess dream me does a lot of killing...only not really getting paid for it. she's just suuuuuper crazy and it shows. hideous bun that is pulled too tight, greasy hair, hideous laughter. i cry a lot on the inside.

I believe that ridiculous is the name of the game.

I'm sure you needn't hold onto the skeleton, however. Unless you've developed some attachment to it.

It is what it is, I suppose.

I have no attachment to it but it feels disrespectful to get rid of it. Perhaps a burial of sorts.

It is. I was impaled by a wooden coat hanger in my first dream. Luckily it did not cross over and I recovered a while later. I doubt sense is ever made by these things.

A burial of sorts is an acceptable way to handle it. I'm sure we can figure something out.

I woke from my own dream death, recently, too. Not a reassuring thing, that.

But I'm glad it has not hurt you here.

A skeleton... is harder to work with. I wonder if there are any people here who work with archaeology. Maybe it could be age tested to see if it is something that could be used, or placed to be found, somewhere fitting.

Besides the trauma of watching my death and thr pneumonia I had, that I was hospitalized for, no. It did not hurt me here.

I do not think it is a good idea to give an Assassin like Altaïr's skeleton up for testing. Besides, I am certain I know how old it is. In my dreams, he died in the year 1257.

You've got a point, yeah.

Hmmm. Maybe a classy, but secret burial somewhere?

This is what I was thinking too. We were not related but he was something of a mentor anyway, through his writings, his teachings. He did so much for the Order.

Then he deserves something, it sounds like. I don't really know much about the area yet, but I imagine there has to be somewhere he could be given a proper send off at.

I'm sorry you died.

I know a few uses for human bones from my dreams, but I don't think you'd want to do that.

Do you trust your neighbours to know the difference between an old skeleton and a more recent one?

Hm. That's an interesting thought. If it were me, I'd rather be cremated. I know it goes against the catholic way I was raised, but I have issue about worms crawling around in my skull, or the possibility of my bones being used in some side-show somewhere.

That being said, the idea of my boney ass appearing in someone's living room one morning is hilarious as fuck.

It is hilarious, isn't it? I doubt Altaïr would think so but something makes me hope I appear in my great-great-great-grandson's living room next.

Though I will ensure this skeleton does not end up in a sideshow. This is one Assassin you do not want to anger from the beyond.

To be fair, Ezio, I wouldn't want to anger any assassin, regardless if they are in the great beyond or not.
