You know, if I were still living in New York I'd be pissed off about the snow, especially since it's indefinitely postponed the trip that I'd planned for Lily and me to take during this last week of her school vacation. But it's actually been kind of magical watching it come down and cover the backyard and the beach. It's the sort of thing I'd never really have taken the time to appreciate in Manhattan because it was usually just another day with bothersome snow that slipped between your coat and your sweater on the walk to the subway or made it impossible to hail a cab.

But I'm quite amenable to snow when all I've got to do is sit inside drinking coffee and watching movies with my kid. She's dying to go outside and play in it, but not while the wind is howling and the snow is falling so thickly that we can't see the neighboring houses.

(Private to Castle)
Though, once the snow clears a bit, I do have an idea involving you, your mom, and the kiddos.

And Meredith, if she's still there. But I hope she isn't.

The snow is kind of beautiful.

It really is. But when it snows all the time and you have to keep living your life in spite of it, you kind of forget that.

Yeah, I had days like that back home.

The problem with New York when it snows is that everyone just takes the subway and the city keeps running. I swore far more on snow days than any other time.

In Minnesota, a lot of snow meant no school.

We had days like that in NYC, but they were rare. You could just go underground and get to wherever you were going that way. Some of the lines would stop running in the boroughs that had elevated tracks, but that wasn't an issue in Manhattan.

So no snow days for kids? That was one of the best parts of winter.

You would have them occasionally, but not that often.

The boys are having the time of their lives with this snow. I think they plan on building an army of snowmen.

[Kate]
Oh? What sort of idea?

Meredith actually left before all the snow.

That's totally fine. Lily will absolutely help.

(Private to Castle)
Oh good, now this won't be awkward.

You should pack everyone up with some pjs and we will have a snow storm sleep over. That's the idea.

It's amazing, isn't it? I love this weather.

It is. I love it more knowing that it isn't a frequent thing.

That does help, yes.

Hopefully, soon, the weather will return to our regularly scheduled warmth.

Fingers crossed. This New Yorker has gotten used to it.

Well, We can hope. And if not, vacations can be had!

Oddly enough, since I now live in a warmer climate, I sort of want to go somewhere cooler for vacation. It makes no sense.

Well, sure it does. Because then you can come back at the end of a time, and you probably get to stay in a nice warm hotel. So... the best of both worlds.

It's a little inconvenient, but luckily I actually went shopping before it got too bad.

Did you get everything that you needed to bunker down for a few days?

Luckily. I think it was because my cat kept telling me things were going to get worse and I needed to take it seriously.

Well, that's good. I kind of compare this snowstorm to if it happened in the South. They don't get it frequently, so they aren't prepared and everything has to shut down. And that's nice because you get off work and all of that, but it sucks if you don't have food and things to wait it out.

.....wait, your cat talked to you?

That would make sense. When you're not used to the snow, it can be difficult.

Oh, yes. Though, I can talk to all cats. Telepathically. Goddess of cats...and protection, love, joy, dance, and music. It comes with the territory.

Huh. Before I moved here I'd have thought you were crazy but given some of the stuff I've read, not to mention what has happened to me personally, all I can say is you must be kept quite busy.

Crazy is relative. But I was a lot busier in the dreams. Centuries fighting chaos is draining.
