terribly sorry, officer ([info]baelfiery) wrote in [info]valarnet,

Hard to believe our chunker is four months old today. His baby fuzz is starting to get lighter and lighter, so I bet my fiancee is pleased. He also keeps looking longingly at grown-up food so we've been giving him sauce tastes here and there. I fear the grocery bills soon, given our teenager's black hole of an appetite.

Oh man, I've become one of those people who just talk about their kids. But I really have nothing else to talk about. I guess being dead in the dreams has some perks.

Though we're also always looking for volunteers at the ranch, and there are job opportunities too. Figure it's my duty to mention.

Awww, they do grow up so fast. Also? Welcome to the parents that just talk about their kids club.

Don't they? It's crazy. How's your little baby godzila? Walking and smashing things?

It is, and time just seems to fly right on by. Getting into everything, but he's walking very well at this point and his vocabulary has extended a bit since you last saw him.

I can't believe he's talking. That blows my mind, and I'll probably be in tears when Niko starts talking too - because it's like, the end of an era. Their babble is the stuff brilliance is made of.

Me either. I mean, it's not fully formed sentences but he's saying up, down, you know, things like that. Oh I do miss the days when Valerian would just babble on and on, so yes, I can understand completely.

Can he say horsey yet? You know, so he can wow everyone at the ranch with his equine knowledge.

Not yet, but I'll get to working on that one with him. I need to bring him with me one day so he can actually see the horses.

That just made me go awwwwww. I'd feel like the worst person ever for scaring him.

We'll have him first meet one of the old ponies who tend to not be excitable.

I can honestly say it wouldn't make me feel good either.

I think that'd be a good idea. I'll bring him with me on Tuesday so he can meet one of them.

Does he even fit in any of his age-appropriate clothes? Last I saw he was bursting out of a onesie with his butter rolls.

Killian's had a glimpse of what's to come. I'm sure I'll get them soon too but at the moment I'm content with not dreaming the clusterfuck of Storybrooke. I don't need to be anymore sleep deprived than what i am.

Yeah, he's a little chunky for them. He can wear 6 month old clothes, or depending on what it is, clothes for a 9 month old.

I can hardly believe there's even stuff to dream about there. Like, how much more nuts can it even get?

Makes him cuter, really, but I can't believe time's passing so quickly.

Jekyll and Hyde last I checked. Belle's pregnant, so we're to expect another awkwardly named child into that world.

I want to slow it down a little. Not that I'm complaining about him sleeping through the night better, but maaan.

Damn, Jekyll and Hyde? We've run out of fairytale people already? So I have a younger brother or sister....by thirty years. Not awkward at all.

Don't rub it in. I'm thankful to be spared from the breastfeeding experience for the sole reason of being constantly caffeinated.

Siblings with massive age gaps seems to be all the rage, doesn't it? Don't be surprised if you have one out there somewhere.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Emma can't wait to get that part of her life back. How's the tiny Kraken anyway? I need to come see her again.

Fuck, I probably do. Considering I haven't seen my biological dad since I was fourteen, it's possible.

Sometimes sweet and cuddly, other times moody and cries for absolutely no reason. Just like my sister.

Terrifying thought, but look how it worked with Killian - he's got a little brother in the dreams, but that somehow translated to him having a little sister here instead. I'll keep you updated on the next spawn.

I, personally, could never look at your sister as sweet and cuddly, even if she was an actual Care Bear.

Maybe I should hire him to look into it, because now I'm paranoid/curious.

I mostly meant the moody and cries for absolutely no reason.

Curiosity's natural, and the option's certainly there. Maybe your father found a bookworm to knock up.

But Meara's way cuter.

I might puke now, thanks. But I guess finding siblings means I'd have to find my father too and...I spent 300 years avoiding him in the dreams, that says something.

We can all agree she took after me. I'm cute. Ish.

Perhaps it doesn't hurt to at least be aware of what he's doing? That's the arrangement I have with my estrange side of the family. Killian and I make sure both of them stay the hell away. If they're on the move, we'll know.

Fear tactics work, too. I did it with Cora.

It doesn't. You don't want to be unpleasantly surprised if Gold comes wobbling in on his cane with a sparkling latte in his hand, do you?

You can let him know that it'd match the glittery-scale thing he'll have going on if he ever were to stick around?

I'm teasing. I know it's something you'd dread to even move forward with, I'd like to say there isn't any harm in knowing but I won't sugarcoat for you.

Maybe. I sometimes would like to know. It's one of those undeniable curiosities, I guess.

I hope Killian doesn't charge me a lot, to look for the guy he stalked for 200 years anyway.

Babies are cute like that. They sort of demand attention and conversation being about them in general. So I think that's pretty normal.

You died in your dreams, too? I mean, I came back. I just didn't know you'd died in yours.

And more people should definitely come volunteer. Even if I would probably volunteer just as much if they didn't.

Mine's especially cute - I know, I know! I sound ridiculous. But he really is.

And yeah, I died. Then I dreamed of sort of the in-between of Heaven and Hell, but I'm definitely dead. No coming back for me.

Well, we're glad to have you. Anytime, you're always welcome.

I think that's pretty much how parents are. It's best to nod and smile.

That sucks. I mean, I'm not sure coming back is much easier than staying dead, though. But then I had to contend with a lot of crazy stuff. So crazy.

Well, it's my favorite place. Not that it takes a lot when my other choice is school. But the horses are great!

Coming back from the dead is pretty traumatic too, I think. Hard to really wrap your mind around it, right?

I'm sure we could manage some kind of part time job if you wanted? I mean, if it's your favorite place may as well.

Yeah. I had a lot of blackouts, which made it extra unfun. It also has unseen consequences like going on a quest to free the god of death who might make me go back to being dead. But it's kind of important.

Really? You'd do that?

That's definitely still badass. There's no sneaking out of it where I dream - or used to dream. Though I guess some people manage somehow, I'm just not one of them.

I do what I can. You're not supposed to be able to escape, but I got help because Nico came looking for Bianca and from someone who came looking for his sister. Only she'd already chosen to be reincarnated. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, I guess.
