Aside from the obvious steps, the Fitbit can track sleep. There are different models that track other things in addition to steps, the distance, and sleep. The one I have can track floors, my heart rate, and sometimes can gauge what type of physical activity I'm doing when I'm running or cycling. It also tells time so it can be used as a watch too. I heard that Fitbit is making improvements and that the Flex 2 is supposed to be waterproof and can actually track swimming.
