You know I have to say, I never expected to see a real live version of someone losing a balloon and hear a violin start playing in the background. Thank you, Downtown Disney for proving me wrong.

Funny how that happens. Though ironic that such scenes popular in Disney movies are recreated in real life in Disney itself.

Right? I mean, there's always the comment of "And the world's smallest violin is playing for you" when someone is complaining about something minor and I'm sure I have said it as well. But to see something where it would actually fit? And then Disney on top of it.

By the way, we're going to Martha's for the holiday weekend for the barbecue she's hosting.

Did you take a moment to let the moment sink in? Or were you too shocked to actually see it happening to do much else?

I see. Well I will do my best to stay on good behavior in that case.

Oh I definitely took a moment to let it sink in. How could I not?

She also promised to make sure there was a no sword policy. Just for you.

Good, such moments are rare enough.

Oh good. Definitely don't need to be greeted by swords again. I'll leave my spoon at home, then.

They truly are.

I thought you would appreciate it. And I appreciate not having to run interference.

Everyone wins! No swords, no awkwardness. Things are much simpler when people aren't armed and prone to drawing their weapons before talking.

Yes, yes they do. I do prefer simpler though it was easily remedied. Still, no need for a repeat.

There are things in life that should be repeated. That is not one of them.

No, it definitely is not. So no worry on that front this for next weekend.

Good, then it should simply be an enjoyable get-together.

Well sure, that seems to be part of the whole Orange County part. But this had nothing to do with dreams or the like. It was quite amusing.

Was it a tiny violin or regular size?

Not tiny, but certainly smaller than average!

Right? It was just the perfect example of the phrase. Especially since it wasnt a child, so no actual crying.

That was my thinking. No harm done and the absurdity of a violin starting to play at that exact moment.

At that point I'd really kind of hope even they could see the irony.

Right? I think it should be criminal not to see the irony. But people can be obtuse and caught in the moment of losing their balloon.

Honestly. Laughter i the best medicine and all. I really hope no adult weeps over balloon loss though.

That it is. Though I don't know, some adults rake their balloons very seriously.

Tell me about it. People really ought to lighten up in general.

I have been there many, many times and I don't think I've ever expected something like that to happen. Wonder if it would happen if someone where to lose their ice cream?

[info]alwaysbeenthere

Now that would be interesting to see! I mean, I'm sure it was just the timing, but it was also so perfect in terms of making the phrase reality.

[info]castlewriter

It probably was the timing and such good timing at that! I hope it happens again sometime because I'd love to encounter that.

[info]alwaysbeenthere

I always appreciate excellent timing like that. Who knows, given the amount of people who go to Downtown Disney, I would think it would be possible!

Was someone actually playing a violin or was it over a loud speaker?

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]alwaysbeenthere

Actually playing the violin!

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]alwaysbeenthere

Right? I had to check when it happened because it seemed so absurd in the timing.

[info]mizpah

Was the violinist playing before it happened? I assume it was a street performer?

[info]alwaysbeenthere
2016-08-29 09:31 pm UTC (link)
Not that I noticed. But yeah, it was one of the performers who set up in Downtown Disney. So probably had a permit or whatever, but wasn't on the stage or anything.

You've traveled through time too? I was talking to a man last night who traveled through space and time.
