My brother and his friend dream of magic, swordplay, and dragons. I, on the other hand, get to dream of being eight years old and watching the midwife deliver my little brothers.

If my dreams consist of nothing but rubbing the feet of newborn children all night, I will scream.

you'll get your 'what the fuck is this' and 'fuck this, fuck everything' moments. patience, bitch.

I have already raised my brothers in one reality. I have no desire to do it in another.

didn't know you had that kind of mothering instinct, kitten. or that you were that fucking old.

I don't and I am not. When you have a mother like ours, however, someone needs to step up and do what needs to be done.

you're old, shut up. they turn out okay after you beat the discipline into them?

You're only as old as you feel, Two Hands. Not to sound sappy, but they have turned out to be the best brothers a girl could ask for. No doubt they owe it all to me.

Not ones they'd share if they knew what was good for them.

The sociable one doesn't actually live here, but I'm sure I can convince Raistlin to come out one night.

I have to admit, I find that rather amusing, Kit.

I wouldn't push your luck, Raistlin. I'm annoyed enough with you as it is. It was your feet I was forced to stay up rubbing.

Don't be annoyed with me because you were rubbing my baby feet in your dreams.

Now that I have said that aloud, it is weird and creepy. Stop it.

If I could stop dreaming about it, you'd better believe I would do it in a heartbeat.

I really hope I never dream of it again though, because now it's weird.

That depends. Where are we going and which friend?

An old friend of mine from when I was living in New York, Revy. I imagine it would most likely be somewhere cheap.

Funny, I dream of all those things too! Just not the baby delivery, that sounds like a bloody nightmare.

But it'll get better! Or worse, depending.

It was a nightmare. I was hoping after 30 I'd never have to hold another baby again.

I hope those little shits didn't pee on you or anything. But Maker, no, I've never even held a baby before. Hawke just became a godfather but I'm too apprehensive to do anything besides watch him change nappies from a safe distance.

I'll take being pissed on by a baby over being shat on by one. I envy you, though perhaps not your Hawke fellow. Children are disgusting little things.

It's green shit too, I don't know how they manage shits of all different colours.

Do you need a drink, to cope with the nightmare?

And yellow. It's like a disgusting rancid rainbow shooting from their ass sometimes.

A drink would be a start.

A rancid rainbow! How very true. You've a way with words, love.

That I can do. Though I've got to say, it's impressive how you stepped up to care for those helpless little humans the way you did.

Yes, well, I also knew if I took care of them then that I'd have a lifetime of having two brothers who owed me to collect on.

[info]rivaini

Not much of a family at all. And they don't even have to be blood either, I've found, to be family in the long run.

No. I have to say I'm much closer to some of the women back home than I've ever been with most of my actual family.
