Ah, yes, please sir tell me how abhorrent of a man I am. Yes, I did harm Clara in a way that I truly regret; it was a lack of control, an inability to understand my power and how to manipulate it properly. I have learned that control, or have learned more of it.
And society has listened to people like her for quite some time; we put people into prison where they get free TV, medical, a bed to sleep in, 3 meals a day, exercise, and sometimes even work. A place where the criminals who are 'punished' can network and build on their own empires or deeds. Learn different tricks of the trade. They sit there and stew, becoming more and more aggressive, hostile, angry.
Then they get released and do it again, maybe worse; maybe they do more of it now because now they know how not to get caught. Society believes, and people like you believe, that if we take the law into our own hands then we're somehow 'just like the criminals we're fighting'.
Yet if we're not willing to take the law into our own hands, and we go by your beliefs that we just slap their wrists time and time again... then how are we not evil for letting the evil carry on?
