All you really need is a diet low in fiber and it's all downhill from there. Especially in someone who already had medical issues, small things pile up easily. I've heard, seen and dealt with worse before lunch since then. I think a lot of what they did was try to weed out the people with weak stomachs early on.
When your back hurts, sleeping on the floor is actually pretty comfortable. After long surgeries, laying on the tile floor is ridiculously relaxing. They tell us that doctors and nurses make the worst patients and they're more likely to injure themselves. I don't think they're as full of it as I used to.
Considering how far into adulthood I am, I should probably be more on top of that than I am.
