Fyodor Dostoevsky = The Man. There is no room for debate on this.

Isn't that inviting debate by making such an absolute statement?

If I'm inviting anything, it's for you to admit that Dostoevsky is superflously awesome

Why do I get the feeling you have a whole lecture to back this up, complete with footnotes?

I'm no writer, unfortnately. I do, however, have a lot of time for reading.

Truthfully I wish I had more.

But everything else is good, right?

Oh yes, I'd rate my life as wonderful. No question about it.

If that's what you mean?

Sarcasm is difficult to detect on the internet, so I hope you're telling the truth.

Entirely earnest!

I'm really not one for sarcasm.

Oh, then stay away from me. Especially when I'm in a foul mood.

Oh, only for myself is what I meant. Feel free to be as sarcastic as you like.

Hmm.. gee.. thanks. No, that's no good. Forcing it won't do at all.

You still haven't told me what you think. Of Dostoevsky, I mean.

The italics were a nice touch.

You're going to get absolutely unreasonable if I say I felt some parts of Crime & Punishment are over-wrought and self indulgent, aren't you?

No, I'll just quietly transfer you over to my shit list. ;)

The laywer in me wants to begin by stating that both of those complaints are a matter of taste and then I'll start building an argument against your character. I mean, you're an unreliable witness. I have documented evidence where you admit to not being much of a reader. Are we really going to begin taking advice on books from someone such as yourself?

That's what I want to do, but I won't. I just don't have it in me anymore.

I've gone too far, haven't I? Like I said, sarcasm is difficult detect over the internet. And, like I said, I'm not a lawyer anymore.

It's not that, it was the logical fallacy that was the jump between "not as much time to read as I'd like'" to "not much of a reader". I mean, would that even work on a judge?

I like a challenge.
Are we officially flirting now?
I better stop.

Is Crime & Punishment all you've read?

I am sorry, that was a great deal of sarcasm at the end there. Completely guilty on that count.

I really enjoyed The Idiot, but I'm afraid just those two.

Unfortunately, I have to run. They're closing the library and I need to get home anyway.

The Brothers Karamazov. Next time I "run" into you, we'll discuss. And I'll try to be less of an ass. I promise.

Or you could tell me to read something.

Right. You want me to update the Wiki to say he's an elf king?

Old enough to know better young enough to not care.

And yet not old enough to be speaking with me without some kind of guardian. Elf King or not, he's still pretty awesome.

To you, maybe.

But hey, if you like overly verbose often morbid Russians that's your thing. Everybody has got to have something.
