I'm thinking of heading to Reno for the National VFW conference. There's a memorial ride so my bike is a must. Anyone fancy accompanying an old man for the week? It's the 20th through the 26th. No strings, just the opportunity to escape this place for awhile.

Have you served your country? If not I'd refrain from using such terminology. America has been very fortunate that we've not experienced full scale war in our land in over a hundred years and we are not fully oppressed by our government. Other countries have not been so fortunate. We have not gone anywhere that war or oppression have not already taken a foothold.

It is about remembrance.

I serve it just fine from my desk in my cushy little office. You can dress it up however you like but you're being trained and paid to kill poor people, and if you're unfortunate enough to survive long enough to the point where you're no longer needed, you get this wonderful 'veteran' label that comes with PTSD every night and poor job prospects.

My balls aren't made of steel and I'm not adventurous enough to take a bike ride to Reno. But I'll donate from my desk in my cushy little office.
