Faramir doesn't believe the darkness will endure. (without_glory) wrote in valarnet,
Thank you. And thank you that it was meant genuinely, since honesty is that which should be highly prized.
While I can appreciate your point, I'm more of a mind that if someone has lived a life true to themselves, they shouldn't have to have another person 'work' to make it a successful pairing between them. I never thought to liken it to a job or a task that one works away at. However, there is some truth about 'wanting' it to work. Both parties do have to want the same thing, in order for it to be long lasting. Otherwise, it's doomed from the start.
Matters of the heart are complex and, I admit, my view is tainted by too many tales and too much poetry. But, it is distinctly mine, so I will hold on to it. Perhaps someday, it will come to fruition. Perhaps not. Either way, I am living a good life, with a well-meaning brother and a good job, and I'm profoundly content.
No one other person can dictate what will work best for another. Only offer advice and put forth their own beliefs, as example. I appreciate that you've taken the time to share yours with me, as hard as that must be. I'm sorry that happened to you, which is also genuinely meant.
