An outcast? Someone like you? I'd kind of...find that hard to believe. I never really fit in anywhere myself, either. I was pushed by my father to excel in my studies and was two years ahead in school. It didn't help things, though, when it came to making friends. Here, I imagine it'll be a bit easier. In Japan, though, anything that's different is...thought of negatively. My age difference was seen in the wrong light, and despite my efforts...I was still cast out of my peers.
I do congratulate you for reading the subtitles. Many people here just take the translations for granted or they don't bother trying to understand what's really being said and all.
They did turn the manga into an anime; it's called Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It's rather good, in my opinion. I prefer the manga/anime that requires a bit of thought from the viewer. Naruto's not bad, but it's geared more for youth than anything else.
