Honestly, keeping yourself busy is probably the best thing you can do right now. It'll keep you from focusing on whatever it was that made you drink before.
The shakes suck, but unless you're willing to go to a doctor, there's not much. They'll put you on antidepressants - booze after a long time fucks up how your brain releases happy hormones, so the antidepressants sort of unfuck it and bring it back to normal.
I'd make sure you drink a shit load of water, just because the sweats'll bring it out of you tons. Just make sure that if you seize, you go to a hospital. Don't be all manly and macho and shit - detoxing from alcohol can literally kill you, and no matter what anyone says, that's not a good option.
