The old testament doesn't matter anyway, does it? Isn't that what Christians are all about? Jesus came and tossed all of that out and the New Testament is what we're supposed to be following.
So even if you toss aside all of Mr. Sorkin's points, you're still left with a bible that's very outdated - there's a reason the Old Testament has the label 'old' on it. There's a reason Christians don't keep kosher. There's a reason for all of that, yes?
A bible that's also been open to interpretation - you know that the "Our Father" when translated from the original aramaic is completely different, yeah? And have you read those passages in their original hebrew at some point? A lot of them have changed over time. I don't think King James did your people very much good.
But grab a bible sometime where everything Jesus said is printed in red. The man never wasted a single word, and aren't those ones the important ones? You show me where in the red print it tells me I'm not supposed to love another woman. I think he told us to love everyone, didn't he?
