Re: Rock and Femme B-Sides
I listened. In order. And I took notes as I went, because I felt like such obvious effort on your extra credit homework meant that I should probably put some in, too.
So. First I gotta say, you (and your partner) are amazing and let's be friends and sit around and listen to music together.
1) Cranberries. Love them. Always have. Not my favorite of their songs, but still a good one. (Zombie is better. Sometimes I like it rough around the edges, what can I say)
2) Never heard it before. LIKED IT. I dig a properly used piano, and a voice that isn't inherently feminine.
3) Can't go wrong with Janis (read above). Thank you for not making it Bobby McGee
4) I want to like Blondie. I really do. But beyond Parallel Lines, they've never impressed me. Good thing this song is from that album.
5) Cute, but not something I'd look more into.
6) Classic. Good. Although I guess I liked it it best when this band broke up, giving Lita Ford and Joan Jett more room to be awesome. What can I say, Kiss me Deadly is better.
7) No.
8) Song voice, dug it.
9) Sounds good. A little mellow, but a good vibe.
10) Your petulant child of a partner wasn't wrong for this inclusion. ("Spooky" is better though)
11) Like it. Fun. A little dated for my usual tastes, but still.
12) This one was new to me, too. I like it. I'll check out more of their stuff.
