Who: Les Amis and Open To Interested Parties When: May 7th Afternoon and Evening Where: Campus Cafe What: An Open Meeting Warnings: None, so far. Will update Notes: Whoever wanted to hang out with Les Amis more? Now is your chance. This is an open meeting, designed to familiarize people with what the group does/works for, and ways to get involved that I've been threatening to put up for a while.
The only way to continue doing good work, especially as they all edged closer to having professional responsibilities and the like, and to summer, with more free time for a lot of them, and a lot of the local students, hopefully some others as well, was to have a larger number of people DOING said work, so it was time for one of the typically well organized, typically large public meetings that were designed to show the public more about what Les Amis were about in this day and age. Enjolras had made a powerpoint that he had cued to run every half hour, there were some posters on the walls with photographs from previous events, a scrapbook of the group's activities, and some local write ups, carefully laminated and preserved, circulating the room.
There were also snacks to be found as any college student learns their first semester. Offer the masses free pizza, and the masses will come. In addition to the pizza though, there were some vegan offerings, various bowls of junk food, and some basic beverages from the cafe itself. Les Amis had paid out of pocket for the basic options, and if anyone wanted extra, they could spring for it. It had been a good thing that the budget, well, helped by Enjolras a bit, had extended that far, and to the little brochures that were being passed around as well. There were other various presentations planned throughout the evening, and Enjolras had the feeling more of his friends were planning to drop by with treats, but at the moment, with most of them in class, he'd been attempting to man things, with Danton, wearing a bowtie and little leash, hanging out boredly on a table. Hopefully, into the evening, things were going to pick up though!
At the moment, he was typing on his laptop, frowning and deleting lines, then typing them again. Really, someone should come and bother him and he would love it. It had been a while since someone had come to chat.
