What: A random meeting
When: Sunday, April 21st. Early Afternoon
Where: Beach near Magnus' in Newport Beach
Rating: PG to start. Magnus likes to flirt
Status: In Progress

Magnus had woken up later than usual, so his early morning run on the beach had turned into an early afternoon run. He preferred the mornings because there were less people and he could just run without worrying about running into small children, whose families weren't watching them, or dogs that were chasing balls or Frisbees, but the afternoon was going to have to due for today. It was because of the fact that there were more people around that he also enjoyed running in the afternoon. Magnus greatly enjoyed attention and attention was exactly what he got when he went running in nothing but a pair of black running shorts that looked like that belonged in the eighties. The shorts left little to the imagination and he ran with a smirk upon his lips as he caught women and men, alike, looking at him as he ran past. Every now and then he'd overhear snippets of comments about how he should put a shirt on or wear longer shorts, but Magnus knew he looked good and soon his picture would be plastered all over the place with him in nothing but underwear, so he really didn't see a reason to cover up now.

Alec was just spending another day on the beach. It was the weekend and he figured that he could take a break from the job hunting. As he took a seat on the hot sand, he shook he head to get some of the excess water out of his hair. He already had applied sun block but he was hoping to get a little tanner by the end of the day. As he glanced around, he took notice of a man running in the smallest pair of shorts possible and swallowed nervously. He tried not to stare but he couldn't help it. As the man drew close he finally looked away, trying to focus on the ocean, but he was hoping the man would run past so he could get another look.

As he ran, Magnus noticed the dark haired boy who was sitting close by. He noticed that the boy was staring at him and this caused Magnus to smirk and decide to change course and run up the beach, towards the dark haired boy. As he got closer, Magnus realized that he was the boy he'd spoken to on Valarnet not too long ago and this only caused his smirk to widen. "Wearing sunscreen, I hope." He said as he stopped a foot or so away, hands on his hips as he gazed down at the boy. He was extremely good looking and the fact that black hair and blue eyes were Magnus' favorite combo just made him even more good looking in his eyes.

Alec wasn't expecting anyone to come up to him, let alone the nearly naked man that was running on the beach. He heard the man speak and glanced over to see that he was almost eye level with the man's crotch, but he made sure to look up quick enough. He, too, recognized the other from the online forum and he bit his lower lip, lightly. However, he managed a slight nod. "Um...yeah...don't worry about me," he replied, before realizing that he didn't know the guys name. Sure, the guy had made a few suggestive comments but Alec couldn't deny this man's good looks. He would just have to not stare. "Are you?" he asked.

If asked Magnus would deny that he deliberately stopped in that specific spot because it meant the cute, dark haired boy would have to look at his crotch, but it would be pretty obvious from his smirk that he had done it on purpose. "Of course I am. Can't afford to get burnt right before my big shoot." He ran his hands through his own dark hair, which in turn caused his torso to stretch. If he'd been wearing a shirt, the move would have given the boy a glimpse of his flat stomach, but considering he was shirtless, the boy got way more than just a glimpse.

This guy had to be aware of what he was doing, and Alec wasn't sure why he'd been pegged to be the 'victim,' if that's what one could call it. "Big shoot?" he asked, glancing away from the man and out to the ocean. It was easier to converse with the man when his almost naked form wasn't right in front of his face.

Well that was no fun. After the dark haired boy looked away, Magnus crouched down a little, staring out to where the other boy was looking, "Photo shoot. Calvin Klein underwear shoot to be exact." His dark eyes wandered over the other's body, relishing the fact that the boy was looking away from him so that he could get a good look without being caught. Not that he ever really cared about getting caught. Checking someone out wasn't hurting anyone.

So, Alec was dealing with a model. That certainly explained the man's bravery when it came to showing off his body. Although, knowing that this guy was a model made Alec a little more nervous. Why was this guy wasting his time on someone like Alec? He didn't think he was anything special. "Oh...I see," he answered before he looked back over at the guy to see that he was now crouched. "Well, that sounds...interesting."

Magnus nodded, smirking a little, "It can be interesting." As he watched the other, his eyes wandered over the dark, bold designs decorating his skin, "Those are interesting tattoos. Do they mean something?" His first instinct was to trace one of them with his fingers, but he resisted that urge, because he wanted to flirt with the boy, not freak him out. Freaking him out would be the exact opposite of what he wanted to do. "And where are my manners? "I'm Magnus Bane." He extended a hand to the other.

The fact that Magnus commented on Alec's tattoos meant that he was looking the younger guy over. Alec couldn't help but blush lightly but he kept his composure, otherwise. He gave a slight shake of his head, "Not really, they were just designs that I saw in one of my dreams and I liked them...so I had them tattooed on me not long after." He knew that it sounded weird but that was the truth. His parents didn't really approve of them, but they allowed him to keep them...the one that infuriated them the most was the one on his neck that was usually always visible. He recalled his father accusing him of coming off as a 'thug.' However, he didn't care...it was done and he didn't regret it. He stared at Magnus' hand for a moment and then, took it in a firm handshake. "Alec Lightwood..." he replied, before pulling his hand back, slowly. He had to admit, it was nice to hold Magnus' hand, even if it had been for a quick moment. Without thinking, he grabbed the nearby bottle of sunblock that he'd placed in his shoe and began to rub it onto his skin. "So, do you normally run on the beach?" Part of him wanted to add Almost naked but he refrained.

"They're very impressive." Magnus held onto Alec's hand for a moment or two longer than was necessary before letting go. "I do. I usually run early in the morning. I have to keep in shape for my shoot after all." He smirked as he watched Alec start to rub sunscreen on his arm, "And what is it that you do, Alexander?" He was taking a shot in the dark that Alec actually stood for Alexander and he hoped that he was right, because it seemed to suit the young man just a little bit better than simply Alec.

It made sense that the man did his best to keep up his good looks. He glanced to the man out of the corner of his eye and his eyes wandered quickly for a moment, before focusing back on Magnus' face. No one really called him "Alexander" and in all honesty, he preferred the shorter version of it. "I prefer 'Alec,'" he said softly. "And I don't do anything at the moment. Just moved here and am looking for a job."

Magnus would keep that in mind, but he still thought that Alexander suited him better. "I just decided to settle here as well," Magnus had been in California a couple times in the past, but this was the first time he'd actually decided to settle somewhere for a little while, "Are you looking for anything in particular?"

"Not really," he answered. "Given all the tattoos, some people are a bit apprehensive about hiring me, so I tend to stick to places like diners that don't really mind my appearance." He didn't mind, and part of him contemplated the idea of working as a bartender. After all, he was fairly good looking and tattoos wouldn't really matter as much at a place like that. "When did you move to the area?"

"Can you dance? I think there's a club in Laguna beach looking for a Go-Go Dancer." Normal people probably wouldn't have made that suggestion to a complete stranger, but Magnus wasn't like normal people. He'd always been more outspoken than other people and since becoming a model and had become comfortable with his sexuality, he had become more bold and nonchalant. "I moved here about a month ago."

Well, that wasn't a suggestion that he expected to hear from someone that he'd just met, but Alec had to admit that he would be curious to give it a try. It was a step above stripping so it seemed somewhat safer. "Um...well...I don't know...I haven't really ever danced for others before..." he said, staring at the sand nearby, to hide his mild embarrassment. "And how do you like it?"

A smile spread across Magnus' face as he watched Alec blush. It was adorable and he found that he wanted to make him do it again, "Ah, so you have danced in private though?" Not only did he want to make Alec blush again, but now he also wanted to see the boy dance and his gaze wandered over his body once more while Alec was looking at the sand, "It's alright. I've been to a lot of different places over the last few years that trump Orange County, California, but it's a place to call home for now. Where are you from originally?"

"Who hasn't?" he pointed out. Everyone tended to dance when they were alone and Alec was no different. He just didn't know if he'd consider himself to be a good dancer, or to be sexy when he danced. Yet, he still blushed as he admitted that to a man who was still somewhat of a stranger. At least, he could use the question as a way to focus on something else. "I come, all the way, from New York City...what about you?"

"Very true." Magnus was no different, but he had also danced in public before; usually when he went out with friends and he knew that he was pretty good. "I've been to New York a few times. Living in the city must have been quite the experience." He stood then, stretching his back and sides. At 6'2, it was a little more difficult to stay crouched down for long periods of time, "I'm originally from Taiwan and then Vancouver." Considering he'd lived in Taiwan until he nine, Magnus spoke English extremely well.

Alec's eyes flickered towards Magnus as he began to stretch and move. This man was torturing him with his good looks; did he know that Alec was gay? Or was he simply just a guy that flirted with others just to flirt? Alec was so inexperienced but he made sure to look away, but he hadn't exactly been subtle about his staring this time. "Well, that's cool...moving around. I've been in the same place all my life so...I guess this whole move is somewhat liberating."

It was a little bit of both really, plus the fact that Magnus' legs and back had begun to cramp up. Magnus enjoyed flirting and would do it with just about anyone regardless of their orientation, but he also liked to think that he had rather good gaydar and could pick up on when a guy was gay or bisexual. Not to mention, there had been a few signs when they'd just been talking to one another on Valarnet. "I moved back to Taiwan for college and since then I've been to quite a lot of places for modeling jobs. Your first big move, on your own, is always liberating. A little scary, but liberating. What did you family think about you moving across the country?"

"What did you go to college for?" he asked, as he looked up at Magnus' face. He just had to try and not let his eyes wander. Yes, it was a difficult task but he could manage, he hoped. "My family didn't really understand why I moved so far away. It just felt like what I need to do, and maybe they'll realize it." He gave a shrug, hating that he couldn't be completely honest with his family about why he wanted to be on his own.

"I actually hadn't declared a major when I started. And I didn't actually graduate, because I started getting modeling jobs before that could happen." Magnus' parents hadn't exactly been thrilled when Magnus dropped out of college to pursue modelling, but after a few years they came around when it looked like Magnus would actually have a career in it, "Besides simply feeling like it was something you needed to do, what made you decide to move all the way out here?"

"Ah, well, I guess it's good that you didn't graduate. It ended up working out for the better." Sure, his parents would think it silly to drop out for something like modeling but Alec admired the fact that Magnus did what he wanted and it paid off in the end. "I just needed space from everything I knew...and I'm kinda hoping that I can finally...be who I want to be and not who my parents want." He looked at Magnus and gave him a light smile. "Anyway, why did you decide to stop your run?"

Magnus' brows rose slightly as Alec mentioned finally being who he wanted to be, but he didn't inquire just yet, because he was pretty sure he had an idea of what he meant. Instead, he decided to answer his question. "If you were in my shoes, wouldn't you stop to talk to you?" He smirked down at the dark haired boy.

"Answering my question with a question?" he inquired. "And I really don't know. I don't exactly find myself to be all that interesting," he said, honestly. He was just a guy from New York City while Magnus was the guy who was modeling and showing off his impressive body. "I don't really see anything that sets me apart from anyone else."

And that was exactly why Magnus had stopped. Okay, so he wouldn't have known Alec felt like that had he not actually stopped to talk to him, but it was because he didn't see anything special in himself that Magnus was compelled to stay and tell him just how wrong he really was, "For one, your tattoos definitely set you apart." He said, quirking a brow at Alec, "And two, have you looked in a mirror lately? Or have you not bought any yet?"

Was this guy being serious? No one had really complimented him like this before and Alec couldn't help the blush that washed over his face as he turned his face to hide it. "I'm not the only person with interesting tattoos," he mentioned, even if he didn't know if others had tattoos similar to his own. "And I'm afraid that I couldn't afford a mirror," he lied, in a playful tone.

Oh Magnus was quite serious. "No, but I've never seen ones quite like that and I would even go as far as to say that you're probably the only person with tattoos quite like that." After all, Alec had said that they were designs he's done himself. "And if that's true, my place is just down the beach and I have plenty of mirrors." He smirked down at Alec, "Everyone should know just how good looking that are."

Alec's jaw dropped open at the 'proposition' and he swallowed as he blushed, yet again. This guy was certainly a charmer and Alec didn't know if he was capable of resisting such a man, if it came down to it. He opened his mouth to try and say something but words failed him. He closed his mouth and then, glanced away, feeling foolish.

Other people might have thought that they'd offended Alec, but Magnus could tell from the way he blushed and looked away that he was simply overwhelmed by the things that he was saying. He watched Alec for another moment or two before he, again, crouched down beside him, this time just a tad bit closer, "You're cute when you blush, you know that?" Secretly, he hoped that it'd make Alec blush even more, because he had a feeling that no one else had ever told him that before.

And blush he did. Alec couldn't process what was happening and he had to admit that he was nervous to look back over at Magnus. He swallowed again and focused on the sand near his feet. "Um...thanks..." he said, shyly. What else was he suppose to do? He was starting to feel so inexperienced.

Magnus couldn't have kept from grinning if he'd tried. He was terrible and he knew it. "You're quite welcome." He could tell, simply by the way that Alec kept from looking at him that being complimented, especially from a guy was completely new for the boy and despite the fact that he didn't think he was making him uncomfortable, he wanted to make sure. Even Magnus knew when to draw the line, "I'm not making you uncomfortable, am I? If I am then I'll leave." He at least wanted to give Alec the option.

He wouldn't describe it as "uncomfortable" but it was certainly different than he was used to feeling, that he could admit. Not to mention that part of him didn't want Magnus to leave, given that he liked the attention. This was mainly due to the fact that this was something that he wanted to do with his new freedom...flirt with guys. He just hadn't expected it to happen so soon, or with someone that was so attractive. So, deciding to not trust his lips, he shook his head, for a quick moment, before adding, "No, I'm not uncomfortable...I'm just...new...to all this."

And there it was. "You're not out, are you?" What Alec had meant by finally be himself made sense now and it was exactly what Magnus had thought. "That's why you moved." It wasn't so much of a question as a statement and again, he knew he was right. "Looks like you're lucky that I came by." He grinned, teasing Alec a bit.

Alec froze and wondered if everyone could tell that he was gay. He hadn't even mentioned his sexuality to this guy and Magnus already was able to figure it out. The teasing didn't have the desired effect, because Alec couldn't bring himself to look at the man, or smile. "uh...yeah..."
